How loud is the Air Raid Intake?

i keep hearing people talk about how loud the air raid intake is after they installed it on their truck. is it that extremely loud that you hear it everytime inside the cab with the raido on? i want to buy the intake but if i have to have the radio at max to drown out the intake it just doesnt seem worth it. any feedback?

When cruising down the highway you can't even hear it. It does drone at certain rpmb but just speed up or down 1-2 mph and your good. The only time it's loud is if your on the gas real heavy. You'll love it trust me.

It is loud, but the loudness is related to the throttle, the harder you get on it, the louder it is. If you drive normal it shouldnt be a problem to your ears. But if you drive like I do...

I love the sound of it, but thats just me!

I thought the power increase was quite noticable. But I installed the Airaid and the 1714 tuner at the same time...

Hey Grunt, you installed the JBA headers yourself??? How hard was that and how long did it take you? I really want the headers with my exhaust, but dont want to have to pay for the install. Is it a job that two people could do?

Thanks!

I have the Regular Cab Short Bed 5.4L with 3.73 Limited Slip diff in a 4x2.

I only have an exhaust on mine...My Airraid is sitting in my hallway...awaiting parts from Airraid. They sent it to me w/o a hardware kit.

Anyway, have you got any track times. I am curious to see what improvements all the mods made. You should be getting pretty good with all of them, even in a 4x4.

Let us know.

I have the G-Tech Pro out in the FX4 truck now. I should have done some runs before mods and some after. And then I should do some runs in the Lariat 4x2 just to see the difference, then run it againm with tuner. hmm...

I took mine off last week. Back to nice and quiet stock. I really wanted this ting to work for me.

Here is my post on it: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ht=loud+airaid

I spoke to Jason at AirAid and he told me to take it back and try a Jr. kit and see how it goes.

I live in a pretty hilly part of texas, and each time I had the cruise on with the full airaid intake it would drone horribly when adjusting speed. Everyone who got in my truck said something negative about it before I even mentioned it. It also causes quite a bit of vibration, it kinda tickles your foot through the throttle.

But I must say, it made a HUGE performance improvement on the truck. If it wasn't my daily driver I would leave it on.

I really hope the Jr. kit works out.

I just put my airaid intake on my truck, and just took it out on I-90 in MA. Coming out of Westfield is a nice uphill for about 2 miles or so, and I was on the gas the whole time, and even though I could hear the intake, I thought it sounded awesome. Everyone who has gotten in my truck has said that it sounds awesome. My fiancee even likes it, she said it sounds mean. I don't know if something is different about your intake, but mine just sounds damn good. With the amount of increase in power I got, there is NO way I would even think about taking this baby off. Rock on!!
