Help me decide on Nerf Bars

My 04 FX4 SCAB needs a set of bars.

The truck is metallic blue with gray 2 tone. I'm going with the Ford bars.

Anyone have pics of the chrome (which ties in the wheels) vs the black (which ties in the dark 2 tone).

Any thoughts on the 4" vs the 5 "? pros/cons?

I was going to put the Ford step bars on my FX4 until the dealer gave me the totally ridiculous price. Got a set of Westins through JC Whitney for about $200. Real nice, easy install in existing holes.

Kistler...I'm in the same dilemma. My truck is silver without the shadow grey bottom. My first instinct was to go with black nerf bars and a black grill guard, but I like the chrome look also. The only thing is.... there is no chrome on the FX4. I've looked at all the different manufacturers and just can't make up my mind. It's kind of hard when you can't see the stuff on your truck before you buy it...that's what frustrates me.Some of the steps are to close to the bottom of the door and you can't even get your foot on them....and then others look too low.
Ford has a new style out though that i've seen that replaces the old 6" wrap bar. It has new diagonal lines in the step pads and the bars look a little more beefy. The problem for me here though is that I like the idea of having a third step on the back for the bed access (wheel to wheel bars). I think i'm just going to have to go with something before my truck gets old.
I wish some other people would put more picks on here of different options....i'd like to see them all! Especially in silver. good luck

Check out these guys, they will do silver or any other color you want. They also have bars with 3 steps per side, 1 per door and 1 for the bed. I got mine from 4 Wheel Parts.

5 inch look the best on the new 150. We sell a ton of those things. They are pricey. The cost on them is about 286 and some change.

Sandog....are the 5" you are talking about the new style step? If so, can you get a double step for the scab or do you have to install the single step pad bar? I like the double step pad over the single and was told the double step is made for the screw. It seems like they would mount up the same being that they are both on the same frame.

Have not tried it, but the double step is for a screw. The single step is a 4l3z-16450-BAB for 5 inch. I have a set of 4 inch that I am not going to use cuz I want the 5 inch. Shipping would be impossible though.

I am leaning towards the black after looking more at the pictures. Any photos of the Ford 5" bars?
