Hmmm, the Owners Guide can be helpful. I also recommend the SEARCH function this site provides.

Here's a thread link to help you out:

Good luck,

RTFM, the procedure is well documented in the manual.

I was just thinking about this today (because my wife hadn't put her seatbelt on) and how much I like it.

I don't move the truck until everyone fastens up. It's a rule I have. Sometimes I just assume my passenger put it on. And if they didn't I get 'em with the chime.

I also like it because it even makes those people that I drive around put it on, when they normally wouldn't have, because it won't stop dinging.

one other way to disable the seatbelt ding is to get a 2" extention seatbelt from ford its made for overweight people and what it does is fastens like a regular seatbelt but it has the female part then you fasten your regular seatbelt into that part cause the metal closes the circuit (spelling) thus disableing the seatbelt dinger.

{CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG} That is how it was in my sisters 2003 cavalier and my cousins 01 tarus

I have found that it's easiest to turn it off by putting on your seatbelt.

Sorry, but if I'm driving around on my land at <10mph and getting out all the time I'm not putting the damn seat belt on every time.
