For those with "THE" Vibration

Do you know which plant your truck was built at? Norfolk, Kansas City, or Dearborn?

Each plant has produced the vibration from all the post I have read dating back to last year this time. There are no common denominators to the vibration problem.

I dont recall seeing this question before but does anyone with a flareside have the vibration? I have a flareside and luckily have been spared the vibration, this is why I asked.

I have been reading all the posts regarding the vibrations and counting myself lucky. I have an 04 SCREW Lariat and no vibration for the first 10,500 miles. My wife had my tires rotated by the dealer for me at this milestone and BANG.. I have a small vibration felt throughout the entire truck at between 50 and 65MHP. Faster or slower than that range and it it still smooth as silk. To be honest, if I was in my 03, 01,99 or 97 F150, I doubt I would have noticed it at all. (yes I have a hard time making my mind up on trucks). This one is a keeper (I hope!).

Took the truck in yesterday and the service tech drove it down the interstate. He first felt a small vibe and said he thought it was the drive chain. On the way back to the dealership, the viration was worse and he said that it may be the tires. He feels I have a a vibration related to both the tires and the drive chain (independant of each other). He told be he had swapped several drive shafts on the 04 trucks and balanced several sets of tires.

They are looking at it now and I am stuck driving the wife's mustang or expy!. I miss my truck.. I now know how you all feel.

Just thought I'd share.

My truck also has the "Vibe". I was wondering if this is limited to a certain rearend gear. My truck has the 3:55LS. Is this problem occurring with different rearends. I talked to my dealer service manager today and told him about it. I asked him to check the OASIS for a bulletin and see if Ford had an answer yet. He checked and found that Ford engineers know there is a problem but do not have an answer yet. I posted this question under another thread of similar interest.

Member of vibe tribe here. Yesterday the driveline tech at my dealership told me he only drives toyota. I had to tell him there is a bulletin out about the vibe, cause toyota driving ford people could really care less about any of us. If they don't fix it, considering this is the second time its been in for the 55mph vibe, I hope to lemon law the hell out of it and tell ford thanks for fixing it as I drive away in a chevy.

No vibe here. Had my truck since 10-24-03 and it’s perfect. Build date is 9-03 Kansas City

I put in my autospring kit took it to dealer for alignment and tire rotate. I noticed my front tires were starting to cup a little. 7700 miles on them and now the ride has changed to a slight shaky feeling since they are in the back .I think the shocks could have a roll play in the vibe with them being a new design im sure. Letting tires bounce off pavement at the higher speeds.

after dealer repair

Got my truck back yesterday from dealer for steering wheel vibe at 58 mph,, he said there was a tsb on my tires and that 2 outta the 4 were not balanced,, that and they rotated the tires and turned the driveshaft 180 degrees,, was time to rotate tires anyways,, but now have to take it back to dealer as the MORON who rotated the tires used a screwdriver to pry off the wheels caps and gouged the $%#$ outta them,,said to bring it in on next oil change and they would repair them,, got home and thought what if he is not working there on next oil change ?? so truck goes bact this am,, starting to wonder if they do this to tires,, how are they working on rest of truck ??????? will hit freeway on way in to check vibe

Got my truck back last night. The service tech road force balanced the tires (one was out of balance). They also adjuted the mesh gears some. I am mechanically limited in my knowledge base, so I am not 100% sure what that means. I still notice a very slight vibration around 60MPH. I will be checking it today on a smooth road and will see if it is still there.

The major vibrations are gone now though.

Rotate Tires???

Kids,

(I sound like Dave Letterman). Anyway, What size socket do you need for an airgun for the 18" Alum. rims??? I want to get a torque wrench and rotate my tires myself so I don't get them tore up... Can you use a 2000 lb jack, or will it smoke it???
