I dont want hitch rack..

I m looking for bike rack on bed for my '04 Screw.

I only need 2 bikes to hold on bed.

I ll looking thru e bay.com

Any advice ? home made?

I made my own with 2 2x4's and two bike mounts from performance.com The first 2x4 lays flat along the bed and the second is stacked perpendicular (on edge) to the first and is long enough to slide into the indents on the side of the beds towards the rear of the bed. Covered each end with electrical tape so I don't scuff the spray in liner. So if you are looking at the end of the 2x4's it looks like an upside down T. Total cost was 20 bucks. Performance had the bike fork mounts on sale for 9.99 each and I had the 2x4's

A friend of mine just bought some bike holders for his truck. They are sold through Sears in the Craftsman tool catalog close to the truck bed boxes. They are simple and hold one bike each and mount under the lip of the bed. He has two and it holds one on each side of the bed. You can see them in the catalog if you are interested in this type of set up. Also you dont have to remove the front tire.

YEah i like the idea, 2x4 and bike mounts.

What if the wood start to crack or the screws in where mounts bolt onto wood 2x4 starting to pulling if turns to left or right??

Just go to any local bike shop. The most likely have them in stock and they're pretty cheap. They can explain to you the Many options available for hauling a bike with a truck.

 

Do your bikes have quick release front hubs?

If so, there are endless ways to bring something together. The 2X4 with mounts on it is very simple to do.
