2nd tow

Took the FX4 to Moab this past week and towed my Jeep. The ride up was alright. Got just under 10 mpg on hilly terrain. The drive back was much better. Seems like the engine just needed some time to settle in. The steep grades were a little better than my old F150, but the mild grades was a huge improvement. The new truck seemed not to work as hard as my 97 did on mild grades. Going thru Monument Valley the road was smooth and so was the truck/trailer combination.

Moab was great, although I did have an incident

I'm ok, did not have a scratch on me. Was out wheeling the next day with a new cage.

Anyways I am much happier with the towing than my original outing. Now I got this grinding in the rear diff when I make a sharp turn. Think its the LS clutch plates. Time to have the dealer have a look.

Easier said than done, It's like walking down the street and you put gum in your mouth, only to trip and your first instict is to put out a hand to stop your fall. Lucky for me I figured it out just in time, tucked my body in towards the pass seat and held on. I'm glad I was wearing a seat belt.

Glad you got that leg back in time. Even the guy at the top looked like he was starting to reach out to grab the Jeep.

Sure looked close.
