Just kidding, congrats man I know you've been waiting for this for a while now. Have a cold one on me.
Thanks Chemgod, I know you were one of the people back months ago I was talking to about the tires and stock rims and all that when this lift was only looking good on paper. Thanks for all your info/help.

Looks Great

Do you know if 35's will fit with a 3" lift?

I am not real sure about that. I dont know that with the 6" lift the 35s still fill very well. So with a 3" lift, although they may fit, it might look like they were squeezed in there. If I were you I would go with 33s (if you werent planning on ever going more than 3" in lift). The 33s are pretty nice, I think a couple guys here have that setup. Are you talking about the Skyjacker 3" lift?

Excellent choice going with the Procomp lift I like it on my rig and have had zero issues with it. Excellent looking rig if I do say so myself!

Good luck keeping it clean washing them are a beotch when they are lifted so high. But its a love/hate relationship with black paint now isnt it???

Eddy,

Very very nice! I have been thinking this lift over very hard too. I was wondering how high the tallest point on your cab is???

I have a pretty good size (tall) garage but I am wondering will it still fit....

Thanks,

-f2f-

Oh yeah, have a nanner too!

f2f - I think the tallest point is just under 7 feet. This weekend I plan on getting out there and taking measurments all over and posting them. Around here everything is a garage so I wouldnt mind knowing how many I cant fit in (all of em!).

jvernacchio - Thanks, I really like the lift so far as well. Black is a pain to clean, but nothing looks as good when clean! The step bars are great for taking care of the roof and windshield, the rest I can reach pretty well. I detail it usually every other day with Meguiars QD. Now if only I could find some good spots in Northern Virginia to get it dirty.

damn Eddy I don't know how I missed this thread until now but I have to say that your truck is now one of the best looking 04's I have seen! The best part is that it is an XLT! Congratulations on the sweet ride and enjoy it!

That's a badass truck... You just helped me decide what my FX4 is getting for Xmas..

Now.. tell me a little more about those Hummer tires... Are you saying that 35" tires are standard equipment on Hummers... and if they are, what's the other dimensions, just incase I decide my truck needs rims too...

Killer, those hummer tires require a 17" wheel. I *THINK* minimum width is 8". You'll need aftermarket wheels anywho, your stockers are 7.5" wide. D'oh!

The tires are hummer take-offs (off a 2004 H2). Just like we were talking in the general forum, it is common practice for people who buy hummers (especially in urban areas) to yank off the stock 17 wheels and tires and put on bling blings, dubs, whatever.
Well the stock tire on a hummer H2 is a BFG All-Terrain 315/70/17. It just so happens that those are the perfect 35 ATs that typically sell for more than $200 a tire. BUT, since they are take offs and Hummer wants to get rid of them, they typically sell for less than $100 a tire. I called around and the dealerships here in DC with take-offs wanted $100-$150 a tire. When I called Valley Caddy in Rochester NY (where I am from) they said they could sell them for only $90 a tire. So long story short...4 wheels = $360 !!!
Now if you go to BFG website you can see that the minimum rim they reccomend is around 8-8.5, so you will need new wheels. Might I suggest AE Alloys for that one since they are great and inexpensive when compared to Welds. Now there are people that run 35" tires on stock rims (this exact tire), like Chemgod, so if you want to go that route talk to him. I cant help with that.

Again the lift is great and I would reccomend it to anyone. Although its a must to buy or fab up a skidplate to go between the two crossmembers since that area looks like it could get hung up on just about anything.

That is awesome man!! I was never even thinking about a lift for my truck before seeing this thread...... Let's just say i'll definately be researching this out on the forum and finding out all that i can about it.

And as for the love/hate relationship with black paint.... i agree 100% with that!! I've owned 3 vehicles in black and man, they were a pain to keep clean but nothing looks as good when its all cleaned up!

Again, sweet ride and good luck with it!

Theres a lot out there so definitely do some searching. I can tell you that I researched this to death, so if you have any questions I can help. To me the lift wasnt an option, it was how the truck should have looked when I bought it (IMO). good luck with whatever you choose. Thanks for the comments.
