Uh Oh

I was driving to the store yesterday when i wrecked my brand new f150

I slid into a ditch and shattered the front end! Yes i am fine but the truck is not! I took it in to be maitnensed on and they told me it was hopeless and to by another one. My wife has an 01 Excursion but i do not wont to be seen in it after bragging on my new truck! Man...i wish i could do it over! This is not going to be very economical at all but i guess it is the only way. I really banked on the new f150 but right now i cannot afford it again! I am thinking about getting a budget ranger and now need advice! Please post! Man...

Ok, what the heck did you do?! 'Slid into a ditch' and 'hopeless, buy a new one' normally do not go together. Did you slide into the ditch at 80 and roll it multiple times and total it out? Post some pics and an accurate description of what happened!! Don't you have insurance?! Something about this reeks...

I've "slid into the ditch" many times before and have never had to get a new car or truck. Just drove right out. WTF did you do? Hit a tree or a huge rock in the ditch? Something doesnt seem right. Like dzervit said, dont you have insurance?

Going about 75 off the interstate and slid into a wet ditch( rain )
and i hit it at just the right angle to diminish the front end of it. The oval was crooked along with the rest of the grille. Sorry! I do not want to be driving a worthless peice of junk lookin truck. There is nothing wrong with replacing something with a smaller more affordable truck. However, my wife will probably have to take the truck so that i can use the excursion for my day to day hauling! Will somebody give some advice for a new vehichle. Even insurance can't cover fixin the grille. It will never be the same and i do not know how to post pics.

Later, like some advice

I'm still lost. 'Diminish' the front end?! So your just going to SCRAP your NEW truck and buy something else?! I'll do you a favor, I'll come pick up your " ...worthless peice of junk lookin truck" and won't charge you a penny!

This story is insane...

The description is very suspect. First you need to check with your insurance agent and get an estimate. If it's totalled. Did you have GAP insurance? You would get back the total cost of what you paid for the new F150. Just go and get another one!
You make no sense on what you say about replacing a vehicle with a smaller one since you have not settled on the one that is wrecked! Find out about just getting another one if it's beyond repair or have it fixed if it's repairable.

You are right Jaquar63, there is something fishy about this dude's story. He apparently:

a. Doesn't have insurance (or just has liability) because insurance would cover the damages or at least some cost depending on the deductable. Or:

b. He bought the truck with cash, or it was a gift. Otherwise there would need to be something settled with the bank in order to even think about a replacement vehicle. Who's going to make payments on a "piece of junk lookin truck".

I say he should give it to dzervit since he doesn't don't want it.

Im guessing from what your saying you went into the ditch and the front end slammed into the ground. If thats the case, going 75 mph, the truck is probably the reason your alive. Ive heard lots of stories about these trucks and how people are alive today because of the truck. For example, a family friend bought a loaded lariat, with cash (wife was extremely rich), and about a month later got in a wreck. the next week he went back and bought another, with cash. he said the truck is the only reason he is alive, and with minor injuries.

after reading that post I think he must a crackhead or something, took me awhile to figure out "maitnensed". How can you even get a brand new truck on the road without insurance? Dude, sorry if your story is true but it does sound fishy and like you were drunk when you wrote that post.
