Messed up BAD

Well tonight on my way home i hear this high pitched wine, dont think anything of it so i turn my radio up, well im doin about 65 and its hella loud cus i can here it over the radio, so i glance down at the dash and notice the 4x4 low light is on. So i slamed on the brakes in the middle of the highway and turned it back to 2hi.

The question is did i screw anything up of did i catch it in time, i only ran in for low at 50-65 for about 1/2 mile. I really hope not.

The difference in the other thread is his 4x4 was actually engaged! Sounds like this guy's was!! D'oh! I'd say you prolly caused some pre-mature wear and tear, and it *MIGHT* hurt you down the line. Everything function OK now? If yes, don't worry about it. Oh, and buy an ESP pronto if you plan on keeping the truck for a while...

Actually, you might be able to run 65 MPH in 4 Low - at about 13,000 RPM! If you managed that, your rods are probably connected to something other than the pistons and crank. Yes, if you did manage to run 65 MPH in 4 Low, you probably messed something up.

Extended Service Protection. IE, a longer warrenty. You can go up to 7 years and 100,000 miles. If you did some damage that won't show up until later down the road, your covered!

Dood...it may have had the light on saying 4 lo, but believe me...you didn't go 60 in 4 lo..the engine won't turn that fast....You'd have to turn something like 9,000 RPMs and the rev limiter won't let it turn that fast. I suspect you had a fault in the indicator circuit.

Thanks.
See my post above. To my knowledge, that's as good as it gets. An actual Ford ESP (not a 3rd party).
