Security Code for 04

I bought my truck used and never got the push button keyless entry on my driver side door. I was told the security code could be found somewhere on the driver side dash (inside the truck). Does anybody have any suggestions? Please help me find this code so I don't have to pay Ford a $60 reprograming fee.

I’d get it re-programmed. Who has the missing keypad? Whoever has it could borrow your truck anytime they wanted to, get my drift?

I think the keypad is mounted on the door. One would still need the correct ignition key to borrow the truck unless they towed it away................

Might wanna check the owner's manual about locating the door pad code.

Ok, my mistake, I thought we were talking about the handheld keyless entry. The code for the door keypad can be extracted from the PCM with a diagnostic machine at a Ford dealership. My truck came with the wrong number (credit card with # on it) when I bought it and the dealer retrieved the correct # it in about five minutes, a very quick and easy process.

I’m reading in my OWNER’S GUIDE (page 93) that the code is marked on the computer module.

Just put your own code into it. I know that you can have the factory set code and at least one more code that you set. Mine, my dad's , and my brother's truck all have the same code that we put into them so that we can get into eachother's trucks. So just program the code that you want into it. Instructions for this are in the manual. Although now that I think of it U might need the factory code to do this. I can't remember. Anyways good luck

I understand I can reprogram it after the first factory code is entered. I'm looking for the original code. As mentioned, it is on the computer module, Where is the computer module located?

It is under the dash, driver side way up under.... small box (6X4 inche or so), the code for the door should be in large letters on the box.

In my Scab the module for the electronic keypad is on the drivers side behind the rear seat back, and it has the code numbers on the top of it.

I still can't find this stupid module. Someone told me it's by the gas pedal. I looked for about half an hour and saw nothing. And whats a seat back? I really want to find this thing but I'm having no luck.

Ok I found mine under the dash way up under the left side on a box 3x4...The tag was white with 5 large numbers on it...Cost me nothing but my T shirt I tore getting under there...while the ford dealer wanted 45.00 to get it for me...

Have 3 nanners and enjoy your truck...

In the owners manual you can change your code to make it your personal numbers beats their code

To change your code you still need the original code...For me to fine it I had to get a good light to see it..It is high up and hard to see...The light made the difference for me...Try again...
