Cool Taking Delivery of New F150 Next week! (hopefully)

Howdy folks, this is my 1st post here and first off I just wanted to say thanks for all the info ref the vibration issue. It's unfortunate that some of y'all have serious, unresolved issues with your trucks. I hope Ford comes up with a fix in the near future!

And now I'd like to give you a little scenario of what my life is all about: I'm 35, I am divorced, and I live in a van down by the river. Oh wait that's matt foley, not me lol.

Actually I'm 23, an FSU Alumni, and I'm a dispatcher for the local sheriff's office.

I've wanted an '04 since they came out but was still paying on my '01 ranger edge 4x2. That all changed after I totalled it on the interstate in bad weather a couple months ago. Now with the insurance payoff I'm getting a silver '04 R/C 4x4(esof) 5.4V8, 3.73Limited Slip, skid plates and all the goodies that come with the XLT package. I'm praying the truck doesn't have any issues, and all the paperwork is still pending until I drive it and see that it is error free. I've gotten alot of info from here already and look forward to receiving and contributing also.

One question I do have is ref the mini overhead storeage bin that is standard on the XLT reg cab...is it just an open space like on other ford overhead consoles, or is there a door on it like an explorer overhead unit? Guess if nobody knows I'll just wait and see. Thanks alot and I'll try and get some pics when I get the truck. I can't wait!!!

Congrats on the truck! Other than some minor trim issues and a flimsy fuel filler door, my '04 Supercab has been flawless.

Regarding the overhead storage system, I've never looked inside a regular cab '04 before, so I dunno how they're set up. Someone else here does though.

And time for some pre-emptive nanners.

CrimiNole_5.4,

Welcome and Congrats on the new truck, Im sure you won't have any trouble out of it. I have almost 8,000 on mine and no problems.

As far as the overhead console I can't answer that either.

Welcome to the site ..
congrats on the new truck
the overhead ' storage bin " is just a sunglass holder. Pretty much wasted space but i keep my business cards and stuff like that in it since i'm always wearing my sunglasses .
It's all about the sunglasses...

Congratulation CrimiNole_5.4 on the new F150!

Don’t be concerned about having problems with it, because you won’t. The overwhelming majority of all the 2004 F150’s are trouble free. I’ve had mine since 10-24-03 and it’s PERFECT in every way, no issues.
Good Luck and enjoy the new truck

Update, I got it!!!

Well I went and got the truck today. Really great ride and no problems that I can see/hear/feel. I smell the coating burning off some components but other than that everything is 10-4. THe only downside is not 2 hours after taking the truck I ran over a screw and had to get a tire patched.
Payments are not as bad as I thought, only $336/month. I'm going back to the dealer next tuesday to get my CD6 installed

My truck:
Silver 2004 F150 Reg Cab XLT 4X4 (with all the XLT goodies!)
5.4L V8
Tow Pkg
3.73LS
Skid Plates
Electronic 4X4 Switch
CD6 in dash changer

Man I love this truck!
