Help with under-dash rattle.

Anyone here experience a rattle coming from what sounds like the steering column area under the dash. It's intermittent but appears every time I drive my truck. I took it in today for the re-flash and the rattle but the service dept was stacked. They did test-drive and attempted to resolve the issue but told me they would need to have an entire day to locate/repair the rattle. Any known areas here, the service dept is trying but they don't have any exp. with the rattles yet, which is a good thing.

I have a noise from the same area, almost everytime I drive. I hear a creaking noise when I turn the steering wheel going around some bends in the road. I haven't looked under there yet to see what it might me, nor had a dealer look at it yet either.

I have that noise. Plus a rattling noise that appears to be coming from underneath the top of the dash in the middle. Plus an intermittent faint buzzing sound from the steering column area, when I am at a complete stop. Only sometimes though on that last one. It's not every time I am stopped.

My fix for all three is to keep the radio on. Otherwise I get pi$$ed off.

Yeah, I tried the radio "fix" too but just knowing it's there is annoying in itself. I'll keep you all posted next week, my service writer said they'll disassemble the entire dash to lubricate/secure any loose parts/wires that might have been missed.

See now I don't know as if I'd want that. Disassembling the dash is how things get cracked, lost, scratched, etc. I agree the sound is annoying ifyou hear it, but sometimes things are best if left alone becuase they could be made worse.

As with any type of pain or in your body, just ignore it and hope it goes away.

Thank god somebody has a similar noise. I noticed this about a week ago and hope I forget about it when I drive it with the radio down or I go crazy. I have tried near everything to see if I can isolate the noise. It is for sure comming frmo someplace along the steering, and most likely inside the cab. When I turn slightly to the left it gets louder, slightly right and it goes away almost totally (I am sure other drivers thought I was druck when I was figuring this out). Looked up under there today, not an easy task I might add, but could see nothing. So I think I got it figured out where it is comming from but fixing it I am back to square 1. If somebody figures it out please post it before I lose my mind. This truck is quiet but I think that adds to the severity of what may otherwise be common noises.

My cupholder/ashtray has a rattle. Not sure if you guys have the flow-thru console or the bench. I got the bench. Drives me crazy, but the audiophile is usually cranked, so whatever!

I have that little squeaky rattle in the steering column too. Annoyed the heck out of me when it first started, I don't notice it now (although my windows are always down this time of year). The problem is Ford made these interiors so darn quiet that the smallest little rattles seem major.
