Unhappy No ding protection

Has anyone noticed that the 2004s do not come with bodyside moldings. If they do I have not seen them. I now have a ding put in my right side of my 2004 F150 by some inconsiderate ***. It really has ruined a great looking truck. Been to the body shop for them to look at.

Does anyone know where a good bodyside molding can be purchased for the F150?

I guess Ford saw this as one way to cut costs by deleting this item.

Beware if you park next to other vehicles. You have no protection!!!

You might consider nerf bars, They do a good job at deflecting A$$holes inconsiderations

That's exactly why I park as far away from the general population as I possibly can. There's always some inconsiderate dumba*s that just flings their door open when they park.

Yep I park in Montana At least hat is what everyone tells me when I park at work or the mall.

Managed to go 4yrs with no dings on my Jeep Grand Cherokee, still did not get me a good trade in value though!

Nerf bars will damage losers car doors more than yours, I was worried about dings right up till I got my bars on!

Just be aware

If you go the Nerf bar route for this reason, you need to do your research cause some brands stick out further than others, and some are right about in line with the most vulnerable part of the door and provide no door ding protection whatsoever.

nerf bars do the trick until someone in a truck/large SUV park next to you. nerf bars are too low to protect you from them.

That's how I got mine....some guy in a truck larger than mine got me. I had the old Dentwizard take it out. I'm still waiting on some good looking moldings.

I'd suggest looking around your local car lots. You should be able to find an OEM moulding that closes matches the size you need. Then you can just order one from the parts department or online.

I also park far away from everyone. My wife is used to it and now does the same. I like to be able to open my door with out having to sqeeze by someone elses car. But it never fails that if i part away from everyone some jerk doent get my point and will park next to me. do a test yourself and 2 out of 3 times someone will not get your piont. It is like they cant be alone. I live in germany and the parking spots are about 3-4" narrower than the states and you notice it. I would be so tempted to take out my maglite and give some one a door ding if i came out and had one on my truck. But if they are that careless they probably would not even notice! sorry just have to vent alittle

Parking far away seems to work but don't you just hate it when someone thinks its funny and they park right next to you when you are a mile out. Many spots to choose from and they have to park right next to you. Now I park in the boonies and take two spots.

A lot of people don't even respect themselves, never mind other people. There are some that are jealous that some people work hard enough to want a new car or truck or want to take care of their older car or truck 'cuz they love 'em. Those small minded
pieces of s*** should be removed to an island all by themselves.
The other day i had a run in with a pos who dinged his door off my running boards then bitched at me when i had already been
there for ten minutes. ( and i had parked as close as i could to the curb on my driver side so if someone wanted that spot on my pass. side they would have as much room as needed ) and still he couldn't figure it out. Why do you have to park that big truck in this lot is what he said to me. He flipped me the bird and walked into the store,so i got out with my valve puller and left him sitting on two flats....... ( a handy little tool indeed )

There are 2 reasons as to why I park quite a distance from the store. One is to make sure I don't get door dings from stupid inconsiderate a**holes, and the second reason is so I can open both doors (Scab) on the passenger side so I can put the groceries in the truck. If there is a jerk parked next to you on the passenger side, you have a hell of a time putting stuff into the back.

I too have the same problem with the Scab, so I park far away from the rest of the idiots.
One perfect solution to door dings = 6" lift and nerf bars. If they decide to swing their door open with a fury, they end up with a broken window and maybe a little scuff on your chrome bars...oops a-hole!
