How much money could Ford have saved on not including a piece of trim? I guess I should just accept the fact that some tool will ding the door.

dings

Just got my nerf bars for ding protection, but if you can, park in an end spot because you'll have cut your chance of being dinged by 50%

The other day i had a run in with a pos who dinged his door off my running boards then bitched at me when i had already been
there for ten minutes. ( and i had parked as close as i could to the curb on my driver side so if someone wanted that spot on my pass. side they would have as much room as needed ) and still he couldn't figure it out. Why do you have to park that big truck in this lot is what he said to me. He flipped me the bird and walked into the store,so i got out with my valve puller and left him sitting on two flats....... ( a handy little tool indeed )
I love to see justice done...You sir have style...We do think alike...

Thats the reason I bought my truck with the factory tubular bars, it doesnt protect from everything but it does help. If I had plenty of money my truck would have a lift tall enough to keep every other door from coming even close to the painted portions of my truck, oh well maybe one day.

no ding protection

along with no body side molding Ford also elimenated the engine hood light (better carry a flashlight) You can purchase nice body side molding at http://www.customautotrim.com/produc...dings/body.htm Isn't nerf bars a little to low to stop a car door?

Not on a 4wheel drive especially if its been lifted. Granted it wont protect from all doors, but it will protect from a lot of them. Some protection is better than no protection in my opinion.

I’d buy a set of those. When you lock the door, they raise up about a foot and out about 4”. Let me pre-order mine now!

I have a 4x2 guess i'll keep parking far away. I do like the look of a nerf bar vs. side steps. Is it easy to install nerf bars?

Yes, the frame has the threaded inserts in it from the factory. If you buy from Ford or from the after market they should be bolt on with regular hand tools.

Thumbs up bodyside moulding

I found some bodyside moulding on a web site www.sportwing.com it is painted to match your truck. it fits in the channel on the lower part of the door. it looks better than any other moulding i have seen. a co-worker and myself went together and ordered moulding for both of our trucks and was given a big discount on both sets. it really helps the way the truck looks, in my opinion.
