XM/SIRRUS install information
I just installed the XM Commander and it works extremely well. The XM Commander's receiver gives you the choice of either using the FM modulator "box" that you plug your radio antenna cable into, or using the direct connect RCA connectors. Unfortunately, no adapter is available yet for the 2004 F150 so you can't use the direct connection, but at least one company I've heard of is working on an adapter. I installed an XM Commander in my wife's BMW using the direct connect method and the sound quality rivals that of a CD. Given that, I've not been that disappointed by the sound quality in my 2004 F150 Lariat using the FM modulator.
My neighbor attempted to install a XM Roady2 in his F350 diesel. The Roady2 uses a "wireless" FM modulator rather than the "plug-in" fm modulator found on the XM Commander. My neighbor had so much interference from noise, whine and beeps using the Roady2, that he switched to the XM Commander and now is very happy with the sound quality.

I put in a Sirius in my 04 F150 http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conte...d=1028140215544 and they even put it in the ash tray so it goes unnoticed. Works great - took a 600 mile trip in heavy rain without interruption. I went with Sirius because of the sports coverage. I do have problems pulling in to my neighborhood because of large overhanging trees but it is only 5 seconds to my house so no worry. I live in the MPLS area and if you ever listen to radio here it is brutal. I here more local bands on Sirius than I do on my local channels. Death to Radio. I wish the 04 came with built in Sirius since the built in sound better than the fm mods but it still sounds good.
