Transmission Linkage

Ok I dont know how many of you out there have the manual shifting 4 wheel drive but last night I had it in 4 wheel low and when I shifted it back into 2wd it wouldnt go anywhere, I'm sittin there going thru like all the gears and nothings happening, even when I put it in park it's still trying to roll like in neutral, and the 4 wheel drive shifter doesnt feel like its connected to anything, so immediatly I'm freaking cuz I only have 1450 miles on the thing, so I put it in park and put the parking brake on and crawl underneith to find the linkage disconnected, so I grabbed a pair of pliers and snapped the sucker back in place, but now Im wondering if I should have the dealer look at before using the 4 wheel drive again. anybody experiance this before, any ideas?

im guessing if you were off roading something may have just bumped it and knocked the cable loose. since the cable was just disconnected, i wouldnt worry about taking to the dealer.

btw, how do you have a manual tranny 04?? i didnt think they made them yet.

TX...I believe he's referring to 'mechanical' vs. 'electronic' 4X4 shift-on-the-fly, not the tranny.
