I'm having my bed sprayed with a liner, but I also want to look into a hard cover for the bed. However I want one that is easy to remove when I need to make a dump run, etc. Anyone know where I can start to look?

A Lariat Screw used for a 'dump run'? Oh, the heresy...too much!

 

Looks like some us their trucks AS TRUCKS!!!

 

I made three trips to the dump a week after I got my Lariat. Three days after having Line-X sprayed in. I did get funny looks from the dump dudes with a dealer sticker in the back window.

Its a truck--holds lots of yard stuff.

 

Well I'd look pretty goofy having to make a dump run and asking to borrow my Brother inlaw's ranger.

It won't haul anything until the linex goes in but then....yea I'm gonna use it....

 

My whole truck looks freshly detailed everyday, until you look under the tonneau and see the bed is well used, covered in dirt and tie-downs. Thank god for linex.

 

i got the undercover tonneau fron versacover. i love it. its all abs plastic so its lighter than the fiberglass, 45lbs for a supercrew. and i can have it off the truck myself in under 3 minutes. they even sent me a kit for hanging it on the garage wall.

 

I'm with EddyG88 !! She's nice and clean until you look under the cover in the bed... Nice and dirty !!!

 

I have the A.R.E. on mine I really like it. Its held on by 4 clamps that tighten with a bolt, however its pretty heavy for a one person set off.

 

Fold-A-Cover....Hard, Locking, folds up revealing 75% of the bed. With the screw it's half the bed. Probably 95% waterproof. Removes in 5 minutes with a Hex wrench and a single person.

Why do you choose the Fold a Cover vs. Peragon? I want one like yours or Peragon. As I can see the Peragon can be more foldable than Fold A Cover leting more space for tall equipment in the bed.

I want to know your opinion in order to buy the best to fit my needs.

I also looked at peragon...but after talking to someone, this was my conclusion... First off when the peragon is open it folds into a square at the front of the bed, you can't loads stuff into this space unless you slide it under after. I also had some rainwater concerns. If there was water ontop of the cover when you opened it, with the peragon design, you would drain it onto your cargo. I have a mobile DJ business on the side and I obviously wouldn't want that on my cargo.

75% of my bed is still 6ft of open bed, so that is good for me. Plus you can take it off in a few minutes with a hex wrench if you needed over 6ft.

The fold-a-cover was in the $550 range for the 8ft version. The advance cover looked nice too, but for specific reasons I choose the fold-a-cover 2nd gen. Hope that helps.

I like this style you have...Do they sell it in Canada...The web site was hard to follow...Did you install it yourself ??

 

It's made in western Michigan. I bet they would ship to our great neighbors to the north....

I did install it myself.... slightly confusing, took me maybe an hour to install. One disadvantage is that it uses the stake pockets to attach to. So you can't put tie downs in while you have it on. I think the advance cover allows for that, but it didnt' meet some of my other needs.
