Well I got it last night...

I went ahead and purchased an 04 Lariat last night. Wedgewood blue. Has DVD, Audiophile, just about everything. Doesn't have the bed extender and skid plates which I did want but oh well. It was cool to get in a truck with only 6 miles on it

Now if you all wouldn't mind rate this deal for me....

The invoice was 36593 (sticker was 41656). They sold it to me for invoice minus $3000 ($2000 Ford Rebate and $1000 for using Ford financing)

So the end cost was $33593. How good/bad was the deal, be honest it doesn't make much difference now, just would like to know.

Also:

I purchased the Extended warrranty for 6yr/72000 miles for 1750 which seemed high but I like having the warranty. Seems like if I buy it I never use it but if I don't I need it.

I also declined all the spray on protections (interior, rust, paint, and a 4th don't remember) Combined they were about $1500. Was that a good idea to decline? I have read from consumer reports, etc they are a waste but she did a convincing sales job.

Opinions please....

THanks....by the way for the advice earlier....you guys and the King Ranch fellas have been great over the past year and a half just reading and learning...

Jim

All that dealer add-on is overpriced bs, and pure dealer profit!
You did good refusing the adds, also warranty is a great idea. My last rig I didnt have one and it cost me, oh well. Sounds like that is the going rate for most F's with that package, plus you have the Lariat which will have the best re-sale.

Ps, how is the engine power overall not towing?

Having driven it a total of 15 miles I can say it is what I expected. It certainly isn't like my mustang but it is better than my kia (which was my hold me over until my truck comes out car).

I seems fine with accelaration but I'm gonna run her through her paces when I get off tonight....

Not sure about your deal, I got my scab FX4 for $27,500. That includes the 6 yr, 100,000 warrenty. My truck is equiped the way I want it except for the sub under the back seat. FX4, Scab, 6.5 box, 18" off road tires, black interior, black seats, trailer tow, 6 cd changer, grill gaurd, bed mat, splash gaurds, 35 gal fuel tank, paint protection, undercoating, interior protection and warrenty the list price was $34,0+0. Maybe some of the other guys now if that is a good deal, or if they took advantage of this college guy? Afterall, the dealer wouldn't let me see the truck until after I gave them the check. They did a regional search, and found it down in Missouri. Didn't even get to see the truck for the first week I owned it. I guess I am in the new generation of buying their trucks online.

Couldn't see the truck until a check was tendered? I don't know what that transaction would be called in NE, but to a Hoosier it would be called 'buying a pig in a poke'.

Go Purdue!

It sounds reasonable...

Here is something to base it on:

I bought my F-150 Lariat 4x4 about 1 month ago. Sticker was 40,650 - Invoice was about 35,300. I paid 200 under invoice, I then got 2000 from Ford plus 500 for being a member of the American quarter Horse Association... :-) That's cool that they gave you another 1k just for using their financing.

I too declined all the add on crap - there is no need. I will however get the spray-in bedliner as an add on down the road but as long as you keep a good coat of wax on it, you don't need the rust protection.

Congrats on the new truck!

If your happy ...you did a good deal...I agree with everyone else...Having bought a used Lairat I can tell you they are not cheap...You will get a good price when you sell..if you sell that is...

I would save the air filter for a spare and upgrade to a K & N now...Having the extra warranty will pay off after 3 years , it was good you got it if you keep the truck long term...Check what tires you got before you use them to much and see if they will do the job you want...Lots of tire threads and advice on this form here...Enjoy your truck...happy for you...

You got a good deal. The add-on protectants are a rip, IMHO. ESPs rule. Everyone I've had has paid for itself once or twice over.

'Nanners rule. The fornicating nanners are complements of Titantalk.com... 'bout the only good thing going on over there!

Yeah it isn't the stimulating intellectual discourse (huh huh guys with F-150's have small penises huh huh) or the personal hygiene. Maybe if I add the words FUGLY TITAN one of them will pick up on this thread.

vader716 Thanks fatman for th nanners...I don't know the running joke but I crack up everytime I see them.
Not really I joke just seems that everytime we get a new member post they need a bananna boat to haul away all the congratulatory nanners they get. I used to make fun of people for excessive nanners (b/c I'm "that guy", yeah" that guy") but if you can't beat them, join them.
