anyone know if that 1k for using ford credit is a standard thing? and if so do you still get it if you take the low apr?

My deal was 2k or the APR, the 1k was given regardless as long as I used Ford credit. you have to keep th loan for 90 days or pay back the 1000. Rep told me a guy took the 1k, waited 90 days and paid off the loan with his credit union with a better rate.

I decided to take the 2k instead of the 2.9 so I got 5.9 but the payment was better with the 2k than with the 2.9

Overall I couldn't have asked for a better experience, the dealer basically didn't haggle. When I was all done I asked him could I have gotten a better deal if I argued and he said maybe a few hundred. He said they knew I was working with another dealer and would rather have the sale with less profit than lose the sale and transfer the truck. Maybe he was feeding me some bull but it seem reasonable.

The only person who gave me some grief was the woman when I turned down all the protectants and the lojack. I told her I might do the lojack but didn't want to finance it. I said I thought the rest of it was a waste. She said no. I told her I would look into it and call her the next day, she told me now or never. I chose never and she walked away in a huff. Oh well, maybe I chose wrong but I don't do well with strong armed tactics.

The one nice thing the dealer is offering is free oil changes, tire rotations, car washes, loaners for life as long as I have the service done there. They even offer an engine warranty for life if they do all the service. I read the contract and while it isn't bumper to bumper it doesn actually cover the motor and its main components for life. They'll get me on the 15k, 25k, 30k services which are basically check this and check that and then write a check but I may just do it.

Over all 2 thumbs up for my dealer.

Jim
