2004 f150 questions

This link is actually in another listing,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...483927398&rd=1

I like the lift on that truck, and would actually consider getting that precise truck except that I want black exterior and dark gray interior =P. I can't seem to find wherever they got this lift from (can't find the 6" 2004 f150 4x4 lift on any sites), just curious as to how much it'd cost to lift like this, also - while i'm on it - I can't seem to find a clear written difference between FX4 and 4x4, anyone wanna clear that up? thanks a bunch.

There are a few vendors selling the 6" lifts for the 04 150. Procomp, Fabtech, Super Lifts...I belive, and Rancho makes the 4". The difference between FX4 & 4x4 is the interior mostly, the grille, rims, sticker. Im pretty sure the skid plates and everything else is the same.

You can get a 4x4 that's not an FX4. He wants to know what the FX4 provides that the 4x4 add on to an SXT or XLT doesn't.

The major differences in the FX4 to the XLT 4x4 are as follows (assuming the XLT is equipt with the 5.4L)

Assuming you get all the options on the XLT these would be the only differences I think you wouldnt be able to remedy. For example my XLT is fully loaded and is the same as an FX4 except for a few cosmetic things, you can however get an XLT with far less, even a 4.6L 2wd.

Wheels: 18" to 17"
ABS Fender Trim on FX4
Painted bumpers to Chrome Bumpers
Interiors are different (gauges as well)
Bar Grille to Honeycomb Grille

A fully loaded XLT to an FX4 almost have the same sticker as well so it really comes down to which like more. Not to get into a chrome vs painted battle but I liked the XLT more because of the chrome bumpers and honeycomb grille, but thats just my choice.
The FX4 however does have the option for some pretty plush interiors.

Did I get everything?

My truck is a Black XLT Scab with a Procomp 6" Lift (still in the box ) When all through I think the entire thing, installed with 35" All Terrains and AE Alloy wheels (including all the labor) will come to a little less than $3000.oo.

Do some searches on this stuff...we babble about all this all the time on the board.

Hey EddyG88 where did you buy the ProComp6" Lift?
$3000 sounds a bit cheap in price for all of that??

I first bought the lift from National Tire and Wheel for their standard price and kept it boxed up for the longest time trying to gather the money for the rest of the stuff. ( I returned it and bought the lift from the shop since its much cheaper when they install it)
Now I found a local shop that will put the lift in the truck and mount the tires for $2400.00, the wheels I bought from Davesmobileauto.com (do a search, I have reccomended him many times) for $480.00. So all in all I will be at about $3k after I am through. The only thing left is to make the appointment to get the lift in and finally get some pics of my truck up on this site. I think I will wait for the next credit card cycle for the appointment.
