Front license plate removal

I know, I know it's been discussed before. I searched it but I don't think I am putting the right buzz words to find it. Either that or I'm not holding my mouth right.

So please, kind sirs and sirettes, any direction to this thread would be most appreciated.

If I remember correctly, I just snapped the brackets holding it in behind the bumper and it came right off.

it just depends if you want to be able to put it back on or not. I took mine off never to put it back on again. the top has 2 hook looking things that hook on top of the bumber. just take a screw driver and bend the plastic up over the bumber and pull. the bottom you will just need to pull and brake off. its attached some how and i didn't take the time to find out where. so i broke the 2 little round things on the bottom of the plate holder.

if you have an after market grill it looks a lot nicer. I sitll have my front plate with me just in case I get pulled over.

Good idea to keep the plate holder OMC, especially here in Cali.
Sort of like tinting the front side windows of your truck or car, all it takes is a bored cop, and bingo...fix-it ticket time.

the underside is also hooked on with 2 plastic hooks. if you go under the car and pull back the rubber shroud type stuff you can see where the piece comes through and hooks. even in the daylight a flashlight is helpful and a screwdriver is all it takes. it took me a while to understand how it was hooked but you eventually get it. if you need a pic let me know my camera is dead right now

Zoltan...just as a trial, I went to search in the '04 forum using ANY combination of the words LICENSE, HOLDER, or PLATE and found the 10/18/03 thread by sho99fornow that addressed the question of removing the plate holder.
