Angry Trans. Trouble

I have friend @ work Who bought a 04 f150. He is having Trans. Trouble. When shifted into gear. It takes few seconds before it acculy shifts into gear. Does anyone or did anyone have this trouble? if so what was done to correct this problem.
TY

That happens when there is too much/too little tranny fluid. I'd have him drain it and refill according to the manual's capacity level specs

I don't think he can do that, since I heard the trannies are sealed and non-servicable. He'll have to take it back to the dealer.

The trans is definitely serviceable...fluid can be checked, drained, changed, etc.......but if he just got it, take it back to the dealer.

It will do that with the fluid low, it can also need to be revved up a little to make it go anywhere, like a stall converter...........

i would take it back to the dealer if its new and unmodded if not run it over to northern 4x4 and tell them Nick sent you and they will take great care of you and help to diagnose the problem so the dealership can't deny your claims.

2004 F150 is under warranty, take it to a dealer and get it checked out. In the mean time check the fluid level and see if it’s low.

Hey ya'll, Just joined. I am the one that ownes the 2004 ford we are talking about. The truck is only 4 months old and is not going into gear when I go to take off. It will jump in and out of gear when it is warm, only on take off or slow acceleration. The fluid is full. Just had it serviced about 2 weeks ago. It has about 4700 miles on it and I am taking it back on monday. I was just curious if anyone else was having this problem or not. I cant believe this is already starting. Thanks ya'll

Any one here Early bronco lovers. Just curious. I sure the heck am. Tim

I dont think I would worry too much if anyone on here is having the problem. I would take it to the dealer and get it fixed. Plain and simple.

Thank you PM. I agree 100% with you.

Gentlemen:

The guy joined, asked a very legitimate question, and you all label him a troll? He's said nothing of the sorts that even would begin to pronounce him as a troll. If he is, he'll show it soon enough but, at this point, nothing has been done/said/etc... Get over yourselves and grow up. This **IS** a public forum. Further immature and idiotic actions will be met with dismissal from the site.

You will notice that numerous posts have been deleted and I expect this thread to continue in its proper course.

End of story.
