Check it out....

These guys hate me now I think. I went over there with good intentions and they lashed out as usual. I enjoy exchanging stories, mods, tips, tricks whatever. Good healthy competition. I posted time slips and even then they bashed on me. One comment was, "So, you have an F-150 that can beat a Titan....it's still ugly and has less options than mine and cost more". Another comment was that I had a small *****. LOL!!! I keep my comments about the look of the Titan to myself. To each his own I guess. I still won fair and square.

The guys I raced are my friends and co-workers...not my enemies. I think that even made them mad that I had friends with Titans and HEMI's.

Geez, those guys are very defensive about their trucks and offended that it can be beaten at all. Anyway, here is the thread.

Yea hellbound that's a pretty cool read. You really got them girls lathered up over there. Sounds like their panties are in one big huge twist.

My compliments!

Yeah, they are kind of upset. You know, I normally wouldnt do anything like that at all. But, the F-150 gets crapped on so much I was just tired of it...and if I have the proof to prove otherwise I am gonna do it.

The Titan and HEMI are powerful vehicles, but they arent these superfast mind blowing vehicles they are made out to be. I was totally shocked when I drove and rode in my buddies HEMI. I expected to be thrown back and smoking tires and so on.

Nothing like that at all. It pulled hard in 1st and was very tame and comparable to my truck in 2nd and maybe worse than mine in 3rd gear.

Ford’s 2004 F150 is the quietest, smoothest truck available. That’s the bottom line. Wait until the end of this month when Troyer comes out with the tuner for the 3valve. The crocodile tears will be a flowing from Hemivill and Titanvill then.

It sooooo funny to read that stuff over there. I think I'm going to try to find a Nissan dealer and take another titan for a wirl... I don't recall them being that fast.. I mean, it's not a sports car for pete's sake. I feel that my pig of a truck has plenty of get up and go, and it delivers the power with a silkly smoothness that rivals the 325i I have sitting in the garage.

The funniest post was the clown that said the F150 he drove only got to 60 on the one ramp whereas the titan reached 80 in the same streach.. that was rich! He must have been drivin' the 4.6L screw vs the lightest/biggest engine titan! Even then I doubt it...

I think I've given up over there. They are just like us and every other pickup owner - what you have in your driveway is the best thing since sliced bread and the others are a bunch of problem-ridden, slow, ugly, cheap piles of crud. A few answered my questions honestly, but most other were quick to commence bashing...

LOL, those guys are pretty funny. I don't think any of them had ever taken their trucks to the track, they were basing all of their opinions on what they read in magazine_01.

Even if the magazines were right, the difference in performance between the early build software (which the magazines tested) and the late build software is huge. When I reflashed the PCM on my '04 (built July '03) it completely changed the performance of the engine.

I wanted to comment over there about their rather childish behavior. But I refrained, I like that at least here, intelligent and mature conversations can be had instead of a constant bash fest, and a celebration of an unproven design on a market dominated by Ford for the past 26 years. No bashing, no cursing, simple fact.

I'm not stooping to their level, they'll have to climb to mine.

I agree

I agree. I test drove a 4x2 Quad CAb Hemi Ram. It was a quick truck, but not by any means the monster that all the marketing hype makes it out to be. Didn't snap my neck back or anything.

I think it’s more of a “reality snap back” when you realized what a piece of dung you bought.

It's beginning....it's a matter of time before the plastic imports fall apart completely. I owned a Dodge Neon (made by Mitsubishi) and a Honda Element on the first years they came out and they were cheap crap and I almost bought a Titan instead of my F150 but I learned the lesson that you never buy a first year of anything new. (I assume the PT Cruiser and Aztec fit into this category ) Stick with the companies that know how to make a product. Titan owners bought on impluse because it was new and pretty cool looking at first glance and they had to have the new "what's that" on the block.....now they all have buyer's remorse and are trying to justify their buy. Car & Driver TV said the only reason the Titan beat the F150 was price....and they cheaper it costs, the cheaper it is! I did get less options for my money with the F150 but it is still a solid truck.

Any new style of vehicle in it's first year has problems. I have yet to have any with mine. I do suspect something in the drivetrain though. A slight clunking when it downshifts in 1st and 2nd. Nothing major though.

Man, I think I am going to quit the Titan thread. Those guys refuse to believe. I think if they saw it first hand they would still refuse to accept it. So what, I ran better times and fatser. Who cares. I tried to make a point and they lost their cool. If a guy in a Titan came over here and posted about winning I would give him a thumbs up. Good on him.

I just think they hate to see a less powerful truck take a winning position.

I only have a few qualms about the Titan in general. It's an unusual (note, I didn't say ugly ) looking truck. It's like a wall of chrome from the front view. I like the factory spray in bedliner, and I wish more manufacturers would follow suit as well, providing they can maintain quality control of the liners. The bed is awful shallow compared to an '04 F150 though, and I've gotten spoiled since by it. On paper, it looks quite capable with the Endurance V8 and 5 speed automatic, but it's not proven. That's the part that really bugs me. No, the '04 F150 isn't in general either, but a lot of the components were spawned off already existing ones. And the F-Series track record is well documented.

This is why I have Fords rather than a Nissan.

What was a story? The guy who made the post? That was me who made the post over there. The posted track times over there are on average slower than mine. I did see a best of 9.97 and I dont doubt it. I am sure he did run it.

I posted timeslips to prove my run. They havent. But, overall these trucks are equal. That is why they are competitive with each other. I think they would both do equally well in all categories.
