vibration....try this

I have gone through the balance and TSB ordeal which did help but still have a vibration. I rotated my driveshaft, first 90 deg. then test drove it for a few days, it seemed to help a little so I rotated it 90 more deg. for a total of 180 deg. Seems to have made a big difference. Very simple to do.

Please post your results if you try it.

My XLT Screw has a slight vibe/rumble at c. 55 mph...the one that disapprears when the tranny is put in neutral. I'll give the drive-shaft rotation a try.

I haven't been under the truck yet to assess the situation, but I'll take your word that it's 'very simple'.

Simple... sorry

When you get the 4 bolts broke loose chalk your front wheels and put your tanny in neutral don't pull the driveshaft out just spin it 90 deg and put the bolts back in. Keep a jack stand an inch or so under your driveshaft in case you have to rest it on something.

good luck

I just did the 1/4 turn and it has made a difference. I plan to drive it a week or so for a full eval and try it one more 1/4 turn. One word of advice, use some blue threadlock when you replace the bolts. A 12 point 12mm socket is needed, an impact wrench helps if you have one.

My dealer did all the things to the drives shaft including replacing it with a new one. Vibration was still present even though it was better. I'm waiting on a new rear end to be delivered to the dealer so they can replace it and hopefully put an end to the vibration issue.
