i could be entirely incorrect, but I think it is either another connector that goes into the Lariat A/C unit that does ambient temp and things of that sort, or it is for the reverse sensing system....

I think it's for the deactivate switch for trucks that have rear park aid. I'm thinking about seeing if all the wiring is already there and, if so, buying the stuff to add the factory reverse park aid to mine.

If the green connector is on the driver's side just to the right of the steering column and near the very bottom of the dash, it's probably the connector for the brake controller used with trailers that have electric brakes.

My truck came with a matching connector with pigtail wires, a battery isolation relay, and a set of instructions in a plastic bag.

I pull a pop-up camper with electric brakes and I made a jumper from this connector to a 4-pin connector I mounted on the left side of the steering column that fits the plug on my brake controller. Then I put velcro on the dash panel and stick the controller there when I need it. It also fits my wife's '02 Explorer, so I can move it to where I need it.
