Here's a new one...

The driver's side seat belt is so tight that it is killing my shoulder. This started about 1000 miles ago, just kept gettin tighter and tighter, so tight I can't even move anymore. Is there some kind of adjustment I can do without taking it to the dealer? Does anyone else have this? 9000 miles on a Lariat SCAB.

Interesting post.

I am sure you've already slid the seatbelt hook a little further down the strap, right? That's about the only thing I know to do. Is it tight across your hips too, or just your shoulder?

That is a new one.

Does it tighten up say everytime you move forward then back?
Do you have to unlatch the seatbelt to remove the tension?
If you slam on the brakes the seatbelt will naturally tighten up and may not release the tension afterwords.

I haven't had this in my 150, but I have ridden in other peoples' cars where the darn thing just keeps getting tighter and tighter. It is really bad if you have to lean over to pick something up off the floor, then you have to unlatch the seatbelt everytime.

I would take it back to the dealer to have them adjust it.

Mine works fine. (9,250 miles) It locks tight when I go around a corner or brake fast but the rest of the time it moves with me. Very comfortable, I don’t even notice it’s on.

Cool Take it to the Dealer,,

Seat belts are to important to play games with. I believe yours are not functioning properly and may lead to failure....even though the F 150 has the highest ratings for the crash tests, without seat belt its useless. Don't take a chance.... GG

It's a constant pull. Like the tension is set to high. I can reach over and grab the passenger's seat belt and it feels normal, but the driver's has that hard tension to it. Unlike when you hit the brakes real hard, but as soon as I put it on it pulls back hard enough for me to park it and ride the motorcycle instead. Wow this really is the first problem of its kind, I feel honored. Anyone else have it? Leave it to me to have the weirdest thing ever, the service guy will probably roll his eyes.

these seats have pretensioners that pull the belts tight in the event of a crash, they are triggered like the airbag. if this belt is trully tight on you the entire time, it may be a malfunctioned pretensioner.

if the belt ratchets up over time, then the pendulum in the belt is not calibrated properly. either way. take it to the dealer.

By the way... when I'm casually driving on the road, I can grab my belt and pull it away from myself easily there's no tension or constant pulling ever....
