Thanks for the comment. The great whip came from the best, RC (as of right now), courtesy of Terrafirma 7.

I have XM, and love it. The only time I lose reception is going through tunnels..............and I have the small mag ant. that I mounted about 18" back from the winshield on the front of the roof. It seems to do really good there.........

XM..........now I cant live without it

Matt

I am considering upgrading my radio with a MP3 with sat controls and was wondering:

Is there enough room behind the radio to install the XM tuner?

If the antenna is on the roof, where are you routing the wire to the radio?

Yes, plenty of room for the tuner behind the radio. Unscrew your third brake light on top and past the wire in the cab and run the wire along and under the head liner down the side along the top of you doors and down the front pass. pillar and into the dash area. Took me all of 5 minutes to run it. You don't have to undo anything but the brake light.

i have the small antenna also with my roady. no reception problems. i stick it on my headache rack so it wont scratch my paint. i even listen to it while im at work. i work in a 78 yr old concrete and steel factory. the ceiling has a few fiberglass windows that are almost straight up and down. and it even works where there are no windows. a few people at work have the sky-fi and get great reception also.

by the way im in mn
