Toured Dearborn Truck Plant

I recently toured the Dearborn Assembly Plant in Dearborn, Michigan. What an awesome facility. I don't know if we have anyone on the board that works there but you guys/gals do an awesome job. I just hope my newly ordered '05 gets built there.

I was there this past Friday, on the 11:00 tour. Strangely enough, they are just building Silver, White and Black with a few Red thrown in now and then. 99.9% are 2004's. I saw quite a few Silver XLT Screws. No horseplay, but not allot of enthusiasm either. Maybe it being the last day of production before shutdown had something to do with it.

Sounds to me like now we have a common thread to the problems some of our vehicles are having.

Truck Plant Tour

Toured the assembly plant on 6/15. Very impressive. They were only building black, silver, and red. I thought it was neat that they tested each truck before sending it out and tried to correct any problem encountered during the rolling test.

I don't get why they leave extra bolts under the carpet? It makes no sense to me. But I found some under the driver's seat of my truck. Go figure...

It's a free added bonus for purchasing a Ford! If you're really lucky, you'll get complementary orange peel for your paint at no charge as well!

Dearborn Truck Plant

The one you toured is called Dearborn Truck Plant. Dearborn Assembly is where they make/made the previous Mustang. VERRRRY different. Dearborn assembly is one of the dirtiest and oldest plants in exisitance. Dearborn Truck is brand new... and very nice!

haha

no appology necessary, it would be a lot funnier if you actually saw what Dearborn Assembly looked like.

Dearborn Truck plant is glorious. Norfolk and Kentucky are pretty impressive as well.

So I take it you either work for Ford or live in the Motor City area?

My sister-in-law works at the Dearborn truck plant. She said the tour is something like $14 and she doesn't even get a deal on the tour.
