Windshield replaced?

Anyone have a windshield replaced at your own cost yet? just curious to see how much it costs. I noticed a small crack (from a rock) in the very upper corner on the driver's side. I didn't notice it unitl I washed it today. It's in the black area at the very top, maybe a 1.5 inch from the top of the windshield. I think it'll be ok for awhile, but I'm afraid it might start spreading once winter comes and I'll have to pay to have it replaced. Crap

Your insurance should cover it free. I live in FL and cars that only have the bare minimum liability insurance are eligible for windshield replacement at no cost. Check with your insurance co. and find out if OH is the same.

lariatf150,

I had mine replaced. Total cost, including sticker replacements and tax, was $448. My comprehensive deductible was $500.

(The replacement windshield is the OEM one with "F-150" at the top center.)

Thanks.

I don't think I'd claim it on my insurance even if my deductable covered it. It's not worth the hassle and the chance of having my insurance go up.

A windshield in Florida is coverd and they can't charge you a deductible to replace it or make your insurance go up. Call around to glass company's some can fill in chips like that and you wont notice it.I had one replaced at my cost when i put my cage in my 1993 mustang and it was only 160.00 installed

States like Arizona have winshield replacement included in some insurance policies. Its expensive at all and your allowed to replace your windshield 4 or 5 times a year. Mostly because of the rocks and blowing sand everywhere.

During the years I had one particular truck, I had the windshield replaced 3 times. Rates never went up. Also the way my comprehensive works is that if something hits you, like a stone or whatever the deductible is 0. I had a dump trucks drive line let go and parts hit the side of my truck. Didn't know it until I got home. No deductible on repairs. On my 04 I had to have the windshield replaced after only 10 days. A stone cracked it. Rates actually went down by a third at the next renewal.

I had a "wavy" windshield replaced on my 04 F150. Itr was covered under warranty and was done at the dealerhsip. The new windshield was an OEM windshield and the F150 in the top of it is not on the glass when it is installed. it is sprayed on with some kind of black paint, AFTER it is isntalled. I had black overspray all over the inside of my Arizona Beige Lariat interior. I have taken it back twice to get it cleaned up and I am taking it in once more. I bet the company that put it in will hear about it from the dealership, but that isn't my problem.

Sorry I don't know about pricing, just wanted to tell you about the way the F150 is placed on the windshield.

No kidding, the F-150 is painted on. In that case, you would think they’d do that before they install it. No brains no headache.
