Update: The dealership took some vibration measurements and sent them to Ford for analysis. Ford told them that the levels measured were normal...typical response.

I have an area Ford representative coming to meet with me at the dealership. I have printed every thread relating to vibration that I could find on the Internet. If the representative tries to tell me that the vibration in my truck is normal after a test drive, I plan on giving him a ton of reading material and then ask him if he still thinks the vibration is normal.

For me the vibration occurs around 50 MPH and gets more defined around 55 -60 MPH. Its a rotational/harmonic vibration. You can feel it in the steering wheel, seat, floor boards, pedals, and you can normally hear the dash vibrate.

My vibration starts at 42 to 44 mph and lasts until 50 to 52. When I get up to highway speed (65 and up) it feels like the ride of the truck is very bad, not a vibration really, just a bad ride. My truck is still at the dealership so I will not know until tommorow how much the vibration has improved. I was told it has improved drastically but is not totally gone. Hopefully it is something I can live with.

I was thinking...maybe the vibe is the bed shaking? I mean think about it. If the sides of the bed are that large (tall), wouldn't they vibrate at a certain speed or resonant frequency? Which causes you to think it's the rear end vibrating? Sort of like a huge tuning fork? I'm just guessing here. And no I've never driven one. Just using my logic as to what I hear people saying.

Good thinking, I wonder if anyone has a bed cover that has the same problems. This would eliminate all the turbulance in the bed, might actually help. Still just ideas.

My truck bed shakes alot, however I believe the problem with vibration is the drive shaft is out of specification due to the rotational/harmonic feeling in the cab. Just my gut feeling.

When I first noticed my Vib problem, I thought it may have been the bed too, so I got a cover for it. . . .didn't solve anything. Still have the vib and bed shake. Getting tired of running to the dealer for these issues.

Update: Truck has been with dealership for five weeks in total. Ford representative has still not given dealership information as to what they would like to do with my truck. Five days elapsed this week with no communication in regards to next steps in regards to addressing the vibration issue.

On to week six....

Good news!! Sort of...... I got my truck back today, it had to be in at the dealer a little longer due to a leak from the third brake light. I still need to drive it a little more but the vibration has improved drastically. It has now been narrowed down to between 48-52 and is not as pronounced as before. Like I said, I need to drive the truck some more but at this point if I was driving the truck for the first time and didn't know what to look for I think it might be overlooked. It is something that I can live with now. I haven't taken it on the highway yet so I will try that tommorow. The service advisor went for a drive with me and said it wasn't totally gone but they had informed Ford that it had improved it a lot. I am a lot happier now than I was before. Ford is still working on the problem so maybe something else will happen.

For the Vibration

On Mine they did something on the Rack & Pinon added a Damper [I think that solves the Bed Vibration] New Driveshaft & replaced All 4 tires [Failed Roadforce Balancing]

Also done cause the Foreman heard [I didn't] a whine from the Rear Axle I got new Gears

I misplaced the Work order I'll give better detail when I find it on Monday
