Tonnau cover advice
Hello all:
New guy from PA. looking for advice on tonnau covers for 2004 fx4 scab. I want to go with a soft cover that can be removed easily, and has a clean look ( no snaps). Thanks in advance.

Check this out... http://www.covercraft.com/rail_system.htm
I have had that cover on my f150 for almost 4 years now and its holding up great. I leave it on all summer and winter and have had absolutly no problems with it. Good Luck!

i have the truxedo lo profile. tension bars and talgate header roll up with the cover and leave the bed completely exposed. rails mount on inside edge of bed so your stake pockets are usable. fastens with velcro and has auto tension so you dont get that doofy jiffy pop look on the freeway. mines custom fit to my tool box. love it , cant recommend it enough.
I have the Extang Tuff Tonneau, which looks very similar to the covercraft. I paid the same price too, $199. I originally had this cover on my 04 heritage, but it fits just fine on my new 04 F150, as does my old rubber bed mat. The Tuff Tonneau attaches to the rails using a peel & seal lip design, NO SNAPS. It goes off and on very easily, easier in warmer weather. When you need to use the bed, you just un-clip the rear rail and roll it inside the cover up to the front of the bed where velcro straps secure the roll. The support ribs have a spring loaded insert on one end that helps to easily install and remove them. It is a very durable cover.
Bed covers definitely save gas.
The Truxedo cover sounds very nice too.
Open stake pockets would allow me to put my
kayaks on a rack above the cover, leaving my
long box with even MORE covered cargo space!

i have a 5yr old access cover on my truck works and looks great. its not as fancy as the newer ones but i got it for free and shortened it to work with my headache rack. both of which came off my 03 and fit perfectly on my 04 with a bolt modification for the rack.
