First 04 in US!
First 04 in US!
So here's the deal, I bought my 04 lariat f150 supercab 4x2 in Aug 03! (YES I HAVE papers TO PROVE IT!) Sales(boy) told me he could sell it so I gave the manager no chance to tell me I had to wait until Sept. I had to pay MSRP 33,500 though for him to let me take it off the lot!! After they took 2 days to remove the plastic and clean my baby up
So now its June and oh the damn problems. I love my truck but I've had the rotors 3 times and resealed them once. Yes Sam Galloway (ft. Myers) does it for free but what a pain in the ***. They keep my truck atleast 3 days everytime and up to 10 days once and haven't given me any kind of rental car to drive or even a free oil change. I'm at 20,000 miles now and am taking my car in tommarow again for same problems, and i know its the rotors again...I've become an expert in the driving feeling. I keep talking to Sam Galloway and they give me the run around, I've been debating on filing for lemon law...anyone familiar with the process? Or maybe somebody has advice how to get my dealership off their *** and do something to really fix the problem. I've tried talking to them about getting me into a new one and i'm being more than generous about the trade deal I want....even though I shouldn't have to be.
I'll post some pics soon!! Thanks

So your rotors are just going bad? What does the dealer say? What are you doing to your truck? You paid MSRP?!

EDIT - BTW, welcome to the board!

I would have to agree with the above post. My wife goes through rotors pretty quick also doesnt matter which car she had first the tarus and then the windstar. sounds like some heavy braking on your part. my last truck had 52k and no rotor problems. My current truck 40k and pads are down to about 40% left according to the brake insp.

I don't think too many people had a deal last August when the truck was launched.
Into September and October maybe, but definitely not in August.
As far as ther very first truck in the US...
I have a feeling truck #1 went to Bill Ford.

Finally got those pics up...with dates!!
In reply to some of your responses this is like the 3rd Ford I've owned and I love them...its not me being to heavy on the breaks somethings wrong! I did take my truck in again and they re-surfaced them again...saying less than 50% remained and these were only on my truck for about 2 months.
I'm going to file the Lemon law papers just to see if it might get my dealership off its *** and do something. I love my truck and with the mods already done I don't want to get a new one...but I need my problem fixed.
To the bull**** meter guy..grow up!! If you have something to good or informative to say please help us all solve our different problems and share...if not don't result to acting like child.

This thread piqued my curiosity, so I took a stroll down memory lane and looked at the "2004 F150" forum threads from July and August of last year.
The following members purchased 2004s in August 2003:
Lord, Jim! 8/16
Keva454 8/18
velezr 8/19
SteveOwen 8/22
bigsherm77 8/24
~~~^~~~ 8/25 (or before, post wasn't specific)
beastboy 8/29
TweetyB ird 8/30
I'm glad to see that at least 1 from that list (bigsherm77) is still a regular poster...although beastboy does post on occasion.
It looks like the availability date that Ford was advertising was 9/4/03, because that's when they anticipated being able to get '04s delivered to most U.S. dealers. Dealers who received the trucks and documents (invoice, COV) prior to that date were able to sell before then without issue.
Me again fellas.
JohnandDar....thanks for the info. It will give me some other reason to go bitch at my dealership for lying to me about it being a big deal to let me take mine off the lot so early. They told me I had the first one repeatedly and made a big deal out of it....I've done large amounts of sales with them for my company vehiles besides my personal ones so I now with this added on top of the hastle they've been giving me about fixing my truck I'm going to look for a new place to purchase vehiles. Thanks
dzervit ....I don't know what kind of info you want. I've had rotars replaced and resurfaced mult. times. Taken it in for pulsating while breaking, grinding feeling while riding without breaking. Horriable squeaking while breaking. ....I'm not sure what else to tell you....Thats all I know....if I knew any better I would tell ford so they could fix my truck...I forgot to mention that the dealorship is like an hour from my house so thats frustrating enough having to drive all the way there everytime to get my truck worked on. Not sure what didn't make sense to you, hopefully this cleared it up.
