Titan or F150?
For me the big issue was mainly the looks of the Nissan and the fact that I wanted a big 3 truck. When you get up around $30k for a truck +/- $2k to get what you want is peanuts and not important. Ford has been making the F150 forever and it is a solid truck and currently the best looking (IMO), especially lifted! When you buy a Ford you also open the door to tons of different mods and aftermarket suppliers so you can really make this truck your own. I was on Titantalk and all the trucks look the same and no one really talks about making the truck all that different. It does have a nice motor but it looks too much like the Armada with the back cut off and car-ish. You really cant go wrong with a Ford IMO.
As far as problems with the trucks, you cant go by these websites. Look at our own site its filled with peoples problems, thats because this is where people go to vent and solve these issues. Websites like this promote more bad than good because when your truck runs great you dont have anything to complain about. I think both are good trucks but the Titan owners IMO are missing one key ingredient...TRUCK=AMERICAN and saying you drive a Nissan just doesnt carry the weight. Plus, like I said before, you can always make your Ford perform better, but a Nissan Titan will always be ugly.

Oh sorry about the misunderstanding, I TOTALLY agree with you on that. I was just posting my opinions on the two and what it really comes down to is what you like more. I would hate to be driving a Titan right now because it was cheaper and then see an F150 roll by and feel about about my purchase. Glad you went F150, sorry about the confusion.

I can hardly believe it has come to this! Are we comparing a foreign truck to an the top American truck? Toyota Tundra was a big thing when it came out as is the Nissan now. Toyota is nothing now it just couldn't compete and people will realize the same with the new Titan. anyone can put a more powerful motor in there truck, just look at Dodge. The motor is all they talk about. Not much going for it so lets drop in a bigger motor!
I have my own opinion and that is F150 is the most conservative mid sized truck on the market. It has more then enough power, dependability, best looking truck, etc. My friends have had Dodge, Chevy AND Toy trucks and I have heard nothing but bitching about them. I have had no problem with any of my Ford trucks except when a new model comes out I want it!

I don't know who said it, but whoever said it was right.
Go test drive both for yourself, then choose the one you think is best.
Personally, I don't think you'd error with either. Most people can't buy both, so you have to choose one. With either choice, you'll be happy. You can buy a lemon from any manufacturer- Consumer Reports even had the reliability rating of the Mercedes below Chrysler branded cars- how about that?
Don't let biased opinions sway you- Pro Nissan or Pro Ford. Drive both, and select the one you can live with.
Ford = Solid (Nuff said)
Nissan = Solid (Nissan's been building trucks for years too, they just haven't sold their big trucks/SUV's in america. and it's made in America. Last time I checked, Canton, MS was in America.)
What it boild down to is, the foreign manufactureres slowly won market share on cars- and still have it. America's last strong-hold is trucks. Nissan, Toyota and Honda are now seeing how lucrative that market is, so you can expect bigger & better trucks from Japan in the coming years.
Everybody laughed at those ugly little cheap Honda Civics & Accords in the 70's, and the Camry's & Maxima's in the 80's, now look who's out front. Not rooting for them, just calling it like I see it... If you don't believe me, look at the numbers....
Ford dethroned Honda & Toyota one year, but it was stated in some mag that the reason behind that was because Ford flooded Ford-owned Hertz rental cars with Tauruses, counting those as sales, thus edging out the Accord that year.
For the last few years, Camry has been waxing everyone, but Ford sells more F-150's than any other model on the planet- including the Camry.... So, since America buys trucks, competition for the big 3 is looming...
Just hope Honda doesn't build one, because if they do- "They will come."

This thread
Wow, glad I started this thread!
Bottom line, to each his own. I like the look of both trucks. As far as that crappy experience with that Nissan dealership, don't blame the company, our local Ford dealership is just as bad. Definite A-holes.
Advice: buy from dealerships in small towns, stay away from the citys.
I talked to a guy that purchased the Titan and he likes his truck but is aware of the many problems. Nissan makes a solid, reliable vehicle (I've owned a few) and I'm surprised of these problems.
Ford is offering much better financing incentives then Nissan. I'm sure Nissan will get the bugs out, but until then, I'm going F150.
I pick it up next week! Woohooo!
P.S. Honda IS making a truck.

This kind of debate can go on forever. Both trucks have their fair share of problems. I say, drive 'em both, do your research, and then make up your mind.
I went to see a Titan up close and while I didn't drive it, I was impressed with the utility bed thingie in which you use the rails on the side and bottom of the bed to tie down your load. That was some smart engineering on Nissan's part. But to me, the truck is ugly. Now if Ford puts that type of rail system in their bed, I'd be one happy camper!
