I don’t think so.
Titan doesn’t look near as good as good as an F-150, they’re ugly. They have cheap interior trim and awful seats. They don’t even come close to the smooth ride the F-150 affords.
The F-150 is the quietest truck available, and that means a lot, cause road noise really su*ks.

Go with the F-150 and do yourself a favor

You could drop a 400HP engine in it. And the front end would still be butt ugly.

One word: PROBLEMS!

Apparently, the Titan has some major growing pains! Check out:
Titan Talk Problem/Dealer Service

Aside from the possessed radio, the 4X4 Low problem, the Bed problem, unaccomodating service department problems, and in-opprotive reverse backing systems, most of these folks seem to really like their trucks!

the titans are nice trucks. i think the f-150s look alot better but you should drive both and take a good look at both and see what you like better. either would be nice.

Maybe if you changed the words “in it” to ON IT, it would help the looks of the front end

Time for some brutal/unbiased honesty.

Nissan Titan = Six in one hand.
Ford F-150 = One-half dozen in the other.

Is the Titan ugly? To each his own. I don't think they're ugly- in fact, I think it looks more aggressive than the 150- to be honest. But, if you want the most he-man looking truck on the road, then there's only one choice: Ram quad cab 4 x 4. That truck makes all the other light-duty trucks look like girly-men.

The Ford is fresh and new, so is the Titan. The Titan meets or exceeds the F-150 in every conceivable measure, except model variations, and unit sales. Who cares? How many different trucks do you plan to buy? And as far as sales, until Ford sends me a dividend check for being an owner, I could care less who sells more.

Nissan and Ford both build great vehicles, so regarding build quality, you can't go wrong with either.

Cheap inner material? Please... Even as Motor Trend announced the F-150 as Truck of the year, they also cut it in the same article by saying the interior of the Ford made it obvious that it was built to a price point. (Read: Cheap looking)\

Problems? True for any model.. Read this forum and you'll find about stuff about squeaks, rattles and vibrations on the F-150 too. They're both first model year trucks; Ford with a 4-month market headstart.

Sales: Of course Ford's going to lead, but I see lots of Titans on the road now...

What is true with either purchase you decide, one thing holds true. In the light-duty arena, you only have competition in over-all truckness from one other manufacturer. If you buy a Ford, Nissan is your only true rival. If you buy the Nissan, the Ford is your only rival.

When it comes to size, power, innovation, style, and predicated reliability- I'd say go to both dealerships, pick out the truck you like, and whomever give you the best deal- buy it... If you're going off road, buy the Titan.. (4-Wheel & Off Road truck of the year.)

You'll be happy with either. I would be, and I'm a Ford man- but, I have to call 'em like I see 'em, and the Titan is a solid effort. Very Solid. You expect Solid from Ford, who's been leadign the way 20+ years.

PLEASE! YOU MUST BE JOKING!

I don't care what the magazines say, I only go on personal experience, don't believe everything you read! Go find out for yourself...I did. Not that you would ever see me on a Titan lot, but just having the unfortunate experience getting into sombodys Titan myself was enough for me. As if walking past that ugly front end wasen't enough... just getting in and shutting the RECYCLED TIN CAN like door was enough to ensure yet another F150 in my driveway. Sorry...Don't mean to offend, but publishing somthing doesn't make it so. Go find out for yourself!

Reasons for the F-150 over the Titan:
1-Over-all exterior eye appeal. Looks like a truck
2-Interior is well laid out for most desires. Several optional cabin features
3-Choice of V-8s
4-Supior ride quality even in the 126" regular cab short bed.
5-Voted #1 by Motor Trend-

Any other reasons? Maybe the good rebates and pricing of each trim/body style package

.....I test drove it with my wife and she STOPPED the show. She ,sitting back, did not like a cabin noise. Plus she "heard higher RPMs and nothing happened".as she put it.She just asked me to go back and see new Ford. AND I gladly agreed.
You have to step on the gas to get it moving. Sluggish motor and noisy cabin from my perspective.
We liked the appearance of the truck........

Joe

BTW..I ordered the truck first week of April and still waiting....that is not a pleasant experience with FORD Motor Co.

To each his own, I guess. I'll agree with CIA-dude that the Titan is a solid first effort, but Nissan really needed to wow the market to move the products. Like I said in my first post, they are entering the market at a really tough time & are not marketing the product aggressively as they should. Nissan knows they are not going to sway many hard-core Big3 truck buyers. They are looking for the truck newbies to wow with power & flashy looks.

As was said over and over, go out and drive both yourself. The auto mags are so high on adverising dollars they need to praise every car/truck and give it some sort of award to keep the sponsers coming. The mags are a decent source of info, but if you make your purchase based off of 'Truck of The Year' or 'Best-in-Class' awards, then seek and learn to think with your own head!

MY STORY;

I went back and forth between the Titan and F150 for the last 5-6 months. I really wanted the pep and the electric locker that the Titan comes with. I looked everywhere for a 4 door Titan with a split bench and a E-locker and could not find the combo. The local dealership tried to tell me I had to order it and it would take 90 days. Well, I figured if I looked hard enough I would find one. So I called all the big Nissan dealerships within a 4-5 hour radius and told them what I was looking for.

So the first dealership calls me. Its 4 hours away. They tell me that they have the truck for me. I ask all the questions about what pakages it has and they tell me... it has every thing you want. So I drive 4 hours to get the truck. I show up and the truck does NOT have all the options I told them I wanted. So I tell them WTF and head for home. So one 8 hour trip and no Titan...... Keep in mind I took the wife and the 2 yo daughter on a 8 hour trip to get the new truck.

Then about 3 days later another dealership calls me and says they have the truck I am looking for. I tell them, it better have all the options I am looking for and they assure me it does. Well, they quote me a price of $30,000 for the truck. So back on the road for 4 hours to get the Titan. So I look over the Titan and it has almost every thing I asked for. It doesnt have a few things but they tell me they will install the bed extender and then mail me the bed divider for free. So now I am real excited to finally get my new truck. Now on to signing the papers.

I get into the room to sign the papers and I sit down. He puts the papers in front of me and the price at the bottom says $33,600. I then tell them the sales guy I have been working with told me $30,000. They then tell me there is no way they can sell it to me for that because it was a special order and they had to have it shipped in and this was the lowest possible price. So I stand up and say, I AM GOING BACK TO MONTANA AND I AM GOING TO BUY A FORD! The salesman I had been talking to for tha last week was no where to be found. He was on a "delivery and would be back later in the day"...... Ya right! So I get up, get my wife and 2 yo, and head back to my ol truck. The owner, the sales manger, and the NEW sales man all follow me out to my truck and try to tell me how sorry they are and that they would talk to the salesman. I talk to them a little bit about how this was a ploy to get me to drive there and the try to tell me it was not and that they would talk with the salesman. I get back in my truck and head for home. So as I am driving home I call the LOCAL Ford dealership and buy a Ford over the phone. They quote me a price and tell me everything the F150 has and I agree to buy it. The next day I go to Ford and the truck is exactly what they told me and exactly the price they quote me on the phone. SO I buy the Ford. Nissan can stick it. They are in such a hurry to sell the Titan that they will lie to get a sale.

Sorry I had to vent. I am completely happy with my F150. I am sooo glad I got the F150. The Titan is a POS. Go to Titan tech talk and read the forums. There are some major issues going on with the Titan. Here are a few;
1. Bed liner peeling so Nissan is replacing the EXTIRE bed under warrenty
2. Brake rotors are warping after only 5000 miles
3. Interior plastic is cracking after only 1000 miles
4. Stereo fades in and out
5. Paint on the roof is orange peeled
6. Strange rattles they cant not find
7. Rear diff not being full enough on lube so they are burning up the rear ends.

The list goes on and on. Check it out for yourself. I would not buy a Titan for at least another year or two. Ford knows what they are doing and will never let you down.
