Warranty work

Dropped it off for the following this morning:

5K mile service
Pulling to right (should not have been out of alignment)
Drivers side window weatherstriping fading to brown
Drivers side rearview mirror wind noise (whistling)
Drivers door mis-aligned
Tail-gate support improper size

Anybody had any similar problems and were they fixed

Same here on the driver window weatherstrip. Let us know.

Here is a big shot in the dark... window cracked when smoking. Perhaps nicotine on the weatherstrip?? Just a guess. I have it but don't notice it on the other windows. I'm going to have to quit for sure now.

Mis-aligned doors

One of the things I noticed about the F 150 compared to the 2004 dodge was the size of the door hinge, the dodge was much larger, when comparing the hinge to my 95 explorer the explorer hinge was thicker, larger and appeared stronger in general. I'm really not that surprised that people are having door alignment issues... we may possibly see a recall for door hinge replacements.... GG

Well, they still have it as of tonight (expecting that). The drivers door has to go to the body shop to be fixed, I need to make an appt. and take it in to them myself, even though it is in the same building. The weather stripping, no I dont smoke and no they cant seem to see it. Think I am going to go see if it is outside and put a post-it note there tonight and point it out. They said they have to take a picture and mail it to ford for approval. They found the wind noise I complained of but I dont know if it was fixed. Apparently I am a stickler for perfection.

Some of you noted the same problems as me and wanted to know what I had found out from my dealer. After going to the dealership at night and leaving a post it note on my truck they could see the broun I was talking about on the weather stripping, took pictures and got approval to replace it. Body shop is going to take care of my door, Mirror was initially disapproved for repair but later approved as they found out some complaints had been made to the "hotline" about it before so they agreed to do it as long as I had not damaged it at all. Have not touched the front end at all (I mean it has only been three days) and they have replaced the tailgate support for me. They sahould have the parts in saturday (day 5) and maybe get it done that day, Thank goodness for the take home company car.
