Let me apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum!

Just bought an '04 Supercrew. Dealer / Motorcraft doesn't carry a locking gascap specific to the 2004 model. Neither does Autozone. Neither does Checker / Shuck's.

Can I safely assume that a gascap that fits the '03 will work on the '04 as well?

I would do a quick search on the subject. I believe there were some threads on this matter a while back. I too was wondering about this the other day. As far as your locking gas cap from the 03 working on your truck: I would say yes if it is a HERITAGE EDITION . If not I read somewhere that it might cause check engine light to come on.

FordAccessories.com shows a "F150 locking gas" cap for "2004 New Style here ($39):

I also looked at Ford Parts Network, but didn't see one listed. If anyone is shopping around, it might be worth contacting Ford Parts Network to see if they have the locking gas cap and if they offer it at a better price. Their service is usually excellent.
