I have read alot about the latest computer flash fixing the lag in the new F150's.

I ordered a new f150 last week. I was just curious if my truck will have the PCM that fixes the acceleration lag?

I think that PCM update came out in April, so I'm pretty sure the factory would program it with the latest version.

 

My Lariat's build date is 4-04 , I haven't noticed any lag in throttle response . My biggest problem has been keeping my foot out of it !

 

My FX4 is dated 4/04 too but I am surprised by the lack of pedal response. Is there a way to tell from the Vin if it has the latest PCM flash?

I'm not looking for a muscle truck here but my '01 4.6 I just traded in had a lot better acceleration and sounded so much better too.

I lease my truck and am a little reluctant to say anything to my dealer because I don't want them to think I horse my vechicles - I don't. It's just that I expect the truck to sound and act like it's got what I paid for.

Other than that, I really like this truck.
