Splash Guard Question

Does anyone have these Ford splash guards on a truck with the wheel lip molding (Lariat/FX4)? Do they require any drilling or holes in the wheel lip?

I just installed mine yesterday. I had to drill two holes in each front wheel lip and one in the back. I had to take off the rear tires to drill the back and turn the front tires to drill the front.

I have the black running boards, which don't allow the front guards to seat properly. However, I used a hacksaw to cut about an inch off the front part of the running boards. This was easy to do and you don't even notice that they've been cut.

I went with the Husky splash guards. No cutting necessary. The drilling was the same as what Wayne posted.

I have the splash guards and the Ford black running boards. No cutting of the running boards was required. If you had to cut the front of your running boards, then they were installed incorrectly.

I just put those ford ones on the other day and they were pretty easy like wayne said 2 in each front and 1 in the back.. I used a dremel so I didn't have to take the tire off.
I bought them off of e-bay for 25.00 new, not sure how much they cost elsewere...

Michael,

You have different black running boards than me. Mine are the black plastic that attach diectly under the truck, where yours are tubular that hang below the truck. My type need to be cut. If you search the forums under "mud flap" you'll see many discussions about the problem with mine and mud flaps. The easy solution is to cut the front of the boards, which only takes a minute with a hacksaw.

That would explain it then. Wasn't clear in your first message. Thanks for the explanation!
