Removing my flowmaster 40 series

Although i like the sound of the flowmaster during idle and acceleration, i can't take the "drone" sound in the cab anymore.
Its drivin me nuts.
I had this idential muffler on my 01 F150 XLT 4.2 Scab, and had absolutly no "drone.
What is out there that will sound good at idle and acceleration less the dreaded "cab drone"???
I just replaced the muffler, no pipes ect.

Magnaflow’s don’t drone. I put one on my truck, just the muffler and about two foot of pipe to make up the difference in the length. The OEM was that much longer. You should search this forum for Magnaflow vs Flowmaster, there’s many posts about both.

Members have been complaining about Flowmaster mufflers the whole 4 years that I've been here.

I have magnaflows on my truck and hate them because for one, it isnt loud enough, and second, it has no drone. So I am changing out to flowmasters new 40 series.

Anaheim and others with Magnaflows...I wish y'all were my neighbors instead of the Flowmaster owners in my neighborhood at 0500.

Good thing you don't have a Harley or Indian motorcycle owner in your neighborhood, i can hear those things a mile away.
Was fillin my truck up the other day and a guy with an Indian (which i didn't see) started his bike, startled the $#@^ out of me.
Even makes my soon to be gone flowmaster seem tame.

Yep... I like that. I am debating between that, Bullet resonators or Aero-Turbine for my 03 Screw. Replacing the Magnaflow on it. Not loud enough.

Put the stock system back on it, you will hardly be able to tell it's running. I personnally like the Flowmaster Super 40 system. I have no drone just a nice note.

I replaced my Flowmaster 40 Series yesterday on my 5.4 supercrew. I also thought it was too loud at driving speeds. I had them put a Flo-Pro on and I love it. It isn't as loud as the Flowmasters but it is still a meaty sound, particularly behind the truck.

I must also say that I found the Magnaflow to be very loud. Of course this is all a personal preference issue....

Just don't stop replacing them until you get exactly what you want... No need to settle... That is, if you have an understanding muffler shop...

How about a 50 series Flowmaster. It is a little quieter outside without the drone inside. It still has that flowmaster sound at idle and especially at acceleration. It was designed to be quieter inside while keeping the "Fowmaster sound".
It was almost too quiet for me inside.
