spare tire holder
Depending on differences of tread depth between brands, the 265 tire is only 0.56" taller than a 255 tire (assuming that is the OEM tire you're replacing).
Check your truck to see if the space will accommodate a tire of less than an inch larger diameter or, as an alternative, maintian the OEM tire as is...it's only a spare. It won't hurt to run it in an emergency with three slightly larger tires as companions.

Thanks Guys for the info:
I had bought a set of Michelin LTX MS (265 70 R 17) a couple of weeks ago-- but only got four. (these guys measure 31.8" Diameters).
I picked up the new spare last night, and got it up in the spare tire cradle.
There was plenty of room in the cradle... about 2 inches clearance all the way around! Looks like you could get up to a 33" diameter under there.
Thanks again,
