Auto Spring Corp = Great Service
My 1.5" kit is sitting in a box. I attempted to install it myself and 4 hours later could not get the control arms to close up. The whole truck was lifting off of the jack stands as I raised the arm into position to bolt it back up. The only way to do it, is to get some big heavy duty spring compressors to effectively "shorten" the strut while you raise the lower control arm up. I took everything out. I'm waiting for the Donahoe strut kit to be released. (See other posts on the forum).
Fuel Economy?
I know I started a thread on this, but have any of you noticed a significant change in mpg since installing the lift. I am interested in the 1.5" front-end lift, but I also enjoy the increased fuel economy since the weather's turned warmer, and don't want to mess it up.
Pics of the 1.5 lift would also be appreciated.
Thanks

posted some of my best MPG #'s since installing the 1.5". dont have any pics of the 1.5" but did take some with the 2" before I swapped them out for 1.5". The difference visually between the 2 isnt very noticable, but the ride is(no more clanking at full extension)
here's the link to my photo gallery with the 2" autospring spacers, it was hardly a noticable difference when I swapped to the 1.5", I'll post some pics when I get a chance:

After realizing that the Autospring lift doesn't require a spring compresor, I am very interested in the 1.5" lift. Did any one install this yourself? If so, what tools does it require? Do you have to take off the tie rod ends and all that stuff? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Cincy

tekbargins, no didnt trust the double stick tape for longevity, afraid I would lose the emblem, the back of the emblem has some reinforcement across the middle, drilled it out and used a 1/4" bottoming tap and some nylon 1/4" bolts. Cut the heads off the nylon 1/4" bolts and threaded into the emblem with epoxy and used a nut and washer on the backside of the grille. I thought I read somewhere somebody sells Ford emblems for billet grilles with threaded studs on the back. I like the looks of the "big" logo though. Let me know how you installed your emblem. Let me know if you find those aftermarket emblems. Bill

What’s this all about? You don’t take the strut assembly apart, so no compression tools are needed, right
