Question Front End LIft

I want to raise the front end of my 04 Supercab 4 x 2 to match the level of the back. I really like the level look much better than the nose down look so this is purely for cosmetic reasons.

What is is that I need to purchase in order to accomplish this? A truck accessory store that I contat yesterday said I needed a front end lift kit which they are quoting at $210. Does this seem right?

Thanks for your help.

PS: I'm having the Airaid put in next week. Are you with the airaid pretty satisfied with its performance?

Daystar, Skyjacker, Rev Tek and a few other companies make 2 and 2.5 inch coil spring spacers for your truck which should lift the front enough to level it out.

well what kind of look are you going for? you have a 4x2 do you like the raised look or the lower look or do you care? you probably could lower the back of your truck for less money and make it level. depending on the front kit you go with you will pay about 90-150 bucks for the kit <if it is just a coil spacer other kits that don't mess with the coils will run you more money> and 100-200 for installation unless your going to do it yourself. will probably want to get an alignment afterwards about 50-70 bucks. i didn't go with lowering the back b/c I like the bigger look but was prices about 125 installed from one of the shops around here.

Thanks for the reply. I want to raise the front end because I do like the 4X4 look without having the actual 4X4. The shop around hear gave me a price quote of $220 for a lift kit (which seems hight to me) and $120 for install. I'lll need to get more specifics on what it is they are wanting to sell me for $220.

Check around, you should be able to get the kit for 100-150 and install for about the same. If they want to sell you the kit for 220 buy it off ebay and take it to them for the labor only. Look for the Daystar or Autospring kit for our trucks. ou also might want to check with a regular auto mechanic shop and see what it would cost to have them do it, hopefully just a couple hours of labor.

Prices I've seen range from $110 for the Datstar up to $180 for the billet alluminum RevTek. I installed the revtek and have been very happy with it.

AutoSpring Corp

These guys sell on Ebay for about $115. I've had both the 2" spacer kit and then the 1.5" kit installed. The 1.5" kit provided just over 2 inches of lift and looks perfect. The ride is not changed at all.

Due to the front suspension design, the 2" kit gives you more like 2.75" of lift which is just a bit much (often the truck looked a bit nose high). I've seen both kits on my truck and I can assure you the 1.5 spacer provides just over 2" of lift and looks far better.

You can call Autospring Corp at (208) 362-0431 and order direct. They will answer any questions you have.

They provide a great product and back it up with great service.

Autospring is the easiest to install, no spring compressors required, my local Desert Rat charged me 1 hour of labor at $65 to install. I had the exact same experience as Bart, 2" spacer was too extreme, 1.5" gave me a full 2.25", perfect.

I ordered ProTech's lift (2.75"). I paid $150 for it, install is going to run me $100 at a local garage.

I like this design better, and it isnt plastic.

If your in NorCal, Brian from www.protechezlift.com will install for about 100$. He did mine this Sat. and when I went to Les Swab for the alinment check the tech thought it was a 4x4! Brian's kit is very nice but I took a chance w/Daystar cause I allready had the kit. Ilove the level look and the ride and handling has not changed.

whitewolf, you say you took a chance with Daystar, what do you mean by that, did you not like it? Or just saying that you have had experience with it. I would like to know cause I am trying to decide which leveling kit to purchase when I get my truck. Thanks.
