Cheesy Lariat "Wood" Dash

I am sure that many of you feel the same way that I do about the "wood" trim in the Lariat interiors. It looks so cheap to me. I want to get it redone in Carbon Fiber. DG Motorsports does carbon fiber work, but they don't manufacture a kit yet due to a lack of demand. I am sure that if enough of us contact them that they may be willing to develop a kit that looks much better than what we have now.

Actually, one of the biggest reasons for getting the FX4 instead was because I don't like the wood accents in the Lariat.
Unfortunately, enough people must still like it, or they wouldn't still make it.
Personally, I thought it looked a little dated in my '89 Lariat. Just my opinion.

I don't like it, especially with the black flow through console.

I was unsure about the fake wood, but it's grown on me. I think it fits. I have 2nd thoughts about going the carbon fiber route...

Same here. I have the tan interior and the "wood" actually looks pretty good to me. I don't really notice it too much, though. But I have never thought it cheesy or tacky. Carbon fiber would also look nice. I guess I'm just not that picky about this little feature. I just LOVE my truck!!

There are many replacement kits out for the 04's already and are availble in many colors and grain (carbon fiber and real wood). I think I saw some at www.wooddashfactory.com

I like my "wood cheese".

I will admit I was a bit concerned ordering our truck and how the wood grain would look with the black leather and flow through w/o actually seeing one "in the flesh" but once I saw it in person it really is a strong combo.

Take care,
Jim

FazMan,
I totally agree with you. That is why it was my first mod. Take a look at my gallery and look at what I did. If you want information about it send me an e-mail.

Cheesey? You're crazy!

The Lariat's tan leather & wood combo is Smokin'! All my friends are calling my SCab "The Cadillac".

Now "carbon fiber" is cheesey, especially on the exterior (like the side-mirror kits)!

Sorry..I have owned several Lexus's. There is no comparison in the quality of wood. I own a Lariat and the wood looks like stained plywood but plastic. It is beyond cheezy.
