seatbelt disabling?

is there a way to disable the seatbelt warning? DAMN that thing is annoying. i know what your going to say.... just put on your seatbelt, i normally do wear it but for the occasional short drive where i forget it or have a passenger that doesn't like to wear a seat belt the noise is so annoying! anyways just wondering if there is an easy way of disabling it. thanks in advance
Nick

The procedure is in the owners manual.
Its around page 118 i think.
Don't skip any steps and both seats need to be done.

I'm pretty sure that you can do a one time disable for those short drives by just buckling then unbuckling the belt quick. You might also just be able to press the release button for the seatbelt quick, and that might do the trick.

No to both, I've tried them!

Just ask your dealer for a pair of seat belt extenders. Most if not all dealers will supply them for free. When attached to your seatbelts the sensor thinks the belts are connected. Bingo, no more bells.

I tried the procedure three times, and no luck any time. I took my truck to the dealer for it's 3000 mile service today, and told them to do it. He did it in front of me, and he didn't get the acknowledgement at the end of the procedure that it worked, but when we test drove it, everything seemed okay.

I'm sorry, but what's the point of doing this?

Not trying to be an *** or anything (even though, I'm sure that I'm going to come off as one), but why wouldn't you wear you seat belt? Most deadly accidents happen within 25 miles of your home at speeds of under 30MPH. So saying that it's "just for short trips" is completely nonsensical! Seatbelts have saved my life at least 4 times (if not more), so it seems so worth it. I have mine on before I even start the truck! Call it habit, muscle memory or whatever but I don't even think about doing, it's just done. I'm trying not to preach (I'm not doing that very well, now am I? :P ), but really it's there not just to save your life for you , but to save your life for all of the people who care about you.

Do what you wish, only giving you my opinion.

I disabled my drivers seat for when driving around our farm hunting or working. Its impractical there and just a nuisance.

I do, however, wear it at all times when on the road. Always. And I love how our passenger seats have a "dinger" built in, annoys the hell out of my passengers.

They look at me and I can see their face go from "Put your seat belt on so that thing shuts up!" to "Oh crap thats for mine."

Love it haha

Wow! A 5 year and 1 day thread resurrection! lol But like ChrisAU mine is diabled. It drove me bonkers when I was out on my property or down at the hunting club doing stuff. Anytime I am on the road I wear mine.

It took me about 5 seconds or less to do mine.Just get a "FREE" seat belt extender from your local dealer and plug it in like a seat belt!

yes the save lives and sometimes they dont. I had a friend killed because the seatbelt held him in and couldnt get away..long story and bad accident. Another exp. of mine is when i was younger my grandma and myself got clipped in the rear,we hit the ditch and flipped 3 times landing with a fence post right in the drivers seat. since we were getting tossed around the cab like rag dolls it missed her, if she had the seat belt on it would have. So i have mixed feelings or it and wear mine only 70% of the time.
