Toyota Quad vs. F-150

Well I wish I had had some back up this past weekend. Went to beach with some friends. He just bought a new Toyota four door pick up (dont even know the official name) and I own a 2004 F-150 XLT supercab. I told myself that I would not even bring it up during the long weekend. The first thing out of his mouth (he is a know it all) was.....his toyota truck is faster, hauls more, more reliable, SAFER, longer, and on and on.....I was overwhelmed! I couldnt just sit there taking it so I told him that I would just give him the hardcore facts....Motortrend truck of year (he said Ford owned Motortrend), best pick on safety, etc.......you can see that this is like talking to a brick wall. Let me remind you that I was in a non-combative mode. Well he got pissed when I finall got fed up and said that I would rather walk and eat SH@%% than drive a toyota! HA! Just needed to vent. Thanks.

Well, neither trucks are exactly speed demons, but you can just point him to the facts. The F150 is faster in the 1/4:

If you want the fastest truck there is only one choice.

"With 1000 pounds of ballast in the bed, the Nissan could still beat an empty Ford, Chevy or Toyota in a drag race" (From Popular Mechanics magazine).

i dont care what anyone says, ford has always made the best trucks, they still do. the sale numbers alone should tell you that.

With 1000 pounds of ballast (rice) in the bed the Nissan wouldn’t have to stop and fuel up for a while

Maybe

hauls more,
Never. Not true.

more reliable,
does that include the brakes made of cheese?

SAFER,
depends on which test.

longer,

yeah, but narrower too. And too bad that length doesn't translate into legroom for the extended cab model.

and on and on.....I was overwhelmed!

he has an inferiority complex if he needs to go on at great lengths about how the Toyota is better than the American models.

Just to let your friend know

Tundra has the weakest frame in this class and thats a FACT

the payload of a turdra is like 1800 lbs and the f150 is 3000lbs

the turdra has a max load (towing) of 7800lbs or something like that. (i can get the facts if needed) and the f150 is 9900lbs when equip.

I have a cd from ford to dealer that show the facts about each truck in this field and lets just say there are others that do somethings better then the f150. but no one does as many things as well as the 150.

Pss the turdra is dead last in this market in power/strength.

you guys would go nuts with joy if you saw this cd/dvd/rom
if come one promises to send it back i'll send it and let you copy it..

Toyota buyers have gotten themselves into a delusional state that now their vechicles are the best out there and do everything best. Car and driver had a right up on the Screw pickups. They found that the Toyota did nothing best except one thing: It was the smallest. The Ford was second to the Titan mainly because the C&D guys prize speed performance above all else. But they did put the Ford in second. They also listed the F150 as truck of the year over the Nissan. Go figure.

I'd get those links and send them to your buddy. You could say some of what he said was true, in 2001.

especially the back seat

i think your friend went into denial that he wasted his money on something that he could have gotten 50x better. he cant accept that something out there is so much better than his truck in nearly every category.

When it came time to buy a minivan for the family I went straight to Toyota. When it came time to buy a truck I went straight to Ford. I'm 2-for-2 in vehicle satisfaction.

You have a CD-ROM drive? Rip it to an ISO image and post it on the 'Net. ( If you can't, I will. Let me know. )
