bvfd10,

Take it to another dealership. That rear end whine is not supposed to be there. The service technician that fixed mine told me that my rear end gear oil was black (after only 6000 miles) and some of the contact parts within the rear end had a significant amount of abnormal wear.

Picked my truck up from dealer Friday, they changed the ring and pinoin no more whine. Sevice advisor said problem came from factory not putting the right torque on bolt. Bolt backed out and made wear marks. Truck is very quit. Good luck with problems.

Yes...I seem to get a whine in my truck all the time. It usually comes from the back seat area when we are taking the kids out to dinner. A lot of times that whine comes from the passenger seat. I am sure some of you get this too.

Thanks for the info, my "whine" is definately getting annoying. Guess i'll be paying my dealership a visit. Sure not happy about my 1200mile truck going in the shop for a week or so, or the Focus loaner they'll try to give me . By the way, what is the "nibble" problem everyones mentioning?

thanks
