04 Weight?

Hey everyone. I weighed my 04 F150
4x4, Supercab, 5.4L, Auto, 3.73 ratio+L/S, trailer pkg., and 18" rims with the factory BFG's.

3380lbs on the front axle
2520lbs on the rear
for a total of 5900lbs.

This includes a full tank of fuel and say 60lbs of misc equipment.

As soon as I can get time and an open stretch of road I'll hook up my gtech meter and try to get some power numbers.

Has anyone else weighted their trucks? Wow these are heavy. Its amazing that I can get 17mpg, soft ride, and stop with that much weight.

With a nearly empty gas tank, my XLT Screw weighed in at 5606 pounds prior to adding the hard tonneau cover. That puts my current weight with a full tank at about 3 tons. It's enough weight to make me doubt that a 5.4 can make 20.3 mpg consistently, tank after tank, as reported by some.

Yikes! Those '04's are heavy! My L weighs in at 4860 with me in it. Ford should've increased the displacement to a 5.6 or 5.7 Liter for '04 to help offset the weight increase.

I hear ya. I've had a 4.6 regular cab 4X4, a 5.4 regular cab 4X2 and now a new 5.4 regular cab 4X4 and have never come close to some of the MPG numbers some people claim. It makes me wonder if they're figuring it out right. Supercrew 4x4 5.4 with the air on going up and down hills getting 20.3 mpg. I'm sorry but that's just hard for me to believe.

My 04 FX4 REG CAB weighed about 5700 lbs at a county waste deposit scale recently. I average about 16.5 mpg in mostly rural commuting.

Agreed ! The re-designed Lightning will need alot of power just to compensate for the extra weight. With long-term high gas prices forecasted, ongoing horsepower wars, and bragging rights at stake, the new model should have an interesting HP figure and price.

That's too funny!
You can't weigh a truck that way and come up with the total weight.
