Dampener & Vibration
I have had the driveshaft and dampener installed, it has fixed about 80% of the vibration but it is still there I can live with it now if I have too. All I can do is wait for a real fix now. If Ford could fix this with a part change they would have by now. I think it has to do with the stiff frame. The bed shake I have is bothersome too. Maybe both these problems are related.
That Damper is huge! That reminds me of a couple dampers my company used to make for Ford about 20? years ago. They were called boom dampers and they bolted to the cab, between the cab and bed. They were designed to eliminate an occasional boom from a specific engine/trans combination. As I recall, it was a manual transmission.
One problem with dampers is that they can really only be tuned for one specific frequency. If there is variation in the manufacturing of the damper or the vehicle, you can actually miss the freq, and make the vibration worse.

I had to wait almost 3 wks to get my drive shaft replaced due to vibe problem on my 04 FX4 along with damp kit. I still have 50% of the vibe left. At first, I could feel vibe between 40-60 mph only, but now it is between 50-60 mph only. My advisor said it will have to go to next step, which is to replace rear-end.
The replacement of driveshaft and steering rack (both new part numbers) did little to diminish steering wheel nibble and general vibrations. I've been waiting ten days for another Ford Engineer to evaluate my truck.
Even though drivable, the vibration has become so annoying that I've parked the truck.
