Front right shock

Well I took my truck to get tires rotated, balanced, and alligned and they noticed the right front shock is leaking bad. I called the dealer and they are going to replace it after they look at it first of course. Has anyone else had this happen to them. This truck has 15,500 miles on it and has never been offroading at all. I just think it may be a defect from the manufacturer. Any Ideas?

I'll bet we would all be surprised at the very minimal price per unit Ford pays for OEM shocks, but at 15,000 miles the shocks were likely 70% worn out and would need replacing shortly anyways. IMO, the '04 shocks are a likely cause of several problems, e.g. bed shake, reported by members of this forum.

Im sure the factory shocks are not of the highest quality. Like most here after the warranty runs out most of us will replace with the shock of our choice.
