Post your 'O4 WOES here!

Post your 2004 F-150 woes. Any one else have this problem???

I have been having problems with driving up inclined roads and having the engine cut out at around 40-45 mph. Engine cuts out and knocks real bad a for a few seconds and then kicks back in and I am able to continue driving. It does this about every other day. Does it right after shifting up and at around 2000 rpm.

Also the other day I was just starting to drive down the driveway and the RPM's would flicker to 1000 and back to 500 and so on until I gave it a good surge on the gas pedal. Weird.

Okay, maybe this isn't exactly what you had in mind but...

My truck has been built and sitting at the dealer for a month and I still have 43 days before I can pick it up. Woe is me.

i've talked to nine 2004 pickup owners and every one of those buyers said they were extremely happy with the truck. I've driven two 04 ford trucks including a lariat 4wd with 10,000 miles that was provided by my company and those 2 trucks were impressive. i want a factory satellite radio but that's my only woe.

My Woes:

My Westin nerf bars came with the wrong mounting brackets so I have to wait another week before I can install them.

As far as the truck itself goes: My only complaint is that I wish they'd fix the throttle delay, and even that's not a HUGE deal for me.

Well, let's see. Mine is going to the dealer soon for the following:
i) The "Reflash".
ii) Find out why there is an intermitent Cam position sensor malfunction. (Sensor or wiring?)
iii) Ltd Slip redo out back. (horrible binding durign turns)
iv) They will look into the fact my drivers seat has some play during suick starts & Stops (city type driving)

I also have concerns over the very loose cowling and I think it must be the reason why there were mysterious intermitent rattles and squeaks durign the cold cold winter. (and wierd noises during hard rains too?)
The strange throttle lag at certian times is also a concern allthough maybe the reflash will help?

I know this all sounds bad, but beleive me, this truck kicks azz. Its so quiet, the stereo kills, I get c ompliments all day long, it looks great, rides grrreat and on and on and on.

I love my truck; scab xlt Great truck!

Complaints;

LOUSY A/C, may have to take to the dealer

Needs more storage, perhaps more of an indentation under the back seats, maybe have the center front seat be able to lift up and have storage under there.

My biggest complaint is that it doesn't wash itself. You'd think for as much money as we pay for these things, that it would clean itself up

I'm like the other guy. After making these payments, I can't afford any mods...LOL. Wish I had the Borla split exhaust and the Air Raid intake. Also want the Daystar 2.5 kit. That's about all my woes.

I love this truck!!

Some things I find annoying on my truck is the slow throttle response, quirky reverse sensing system, very unrefined tilt lever (should be as smooth as buttah like the rest of the interior), and the lousy A/C. Some of these I will throw money at to enhance or get to my liking. Also, getting pretty poor gas mileage so hoping some of my planned mods help.

I do love this truck and the way it handles and rides. Going broke modding it out but fun at the same time.

Angry My complaint

Dealers do a horrible job of providing diverse inventory. I was looking for a tow machine and wanted the HD package on an XLT Super cab. Had to settle for regular cab XL to find one in a 4 state area. Now I'm trying to add back the XLT features that I wanted. Love the truck and it'll tow a small city :B

first post here btw, been lurking for a bit tho =).

Anyways, i got my new black 04 f150 XLT with a hard taneu(sp?) cover, the westin bars, bug deflector, the works really...So three weeks after i got it, i was pulling out into an intersection from work to turn left. Some guy, probably drunk, slammed into my front right wheel of my truck. He was driving some old sedan car or something. He got out and came over to my window and said let's pull into the parking lot to exchange information cause we were blocking traffic. I agreed, i didn't realize at the time that my bumper was bent into my wheel and was flattened and the truck wouldn't even start up. He pulled into the parking lot and then drove away. I was in shock over what just happened i didn't even think to try to get his license information yet. So the ambulance and police arrive and my truck is towed away etc.

Once i get it into the body shop, i find out that a portion of the frame is bent, but they can order a part from Ford that they can just saulder right on. I'm happy with that, the part was on backorder tho and it would be about 2 weeks until they could get it in. Of course i want it to be repaired to brand new since the truck was pretty much brand new. So the part arrives, they put it on, and it turns out the frame is still twisted . By this time it has been about 2 months since the accident, they never did find the guy who hit me btw. So now they have to replace the whole frame of the truck, which they predict will take about a month for everything to be done. I have no other choice of course, and i do want it to be fixed correctly. The new frame is supposed to arrive tomorrow, i actually dropped by on friday and they had the whole front off, as well as the bed. I was sad. So it's gonna be another 3 weeks probably before i have my truck back. Thankfully my insurance won't be going up or anything like that but i'm still bummed over it being wrecked after only 3 weeks. and there is a 500 dollar deductible i gotta pay =\

oh btw, pics are in my sig, they are high rez so dialup people should beware =P
